The new master cylinder has increased dia to 13mm (correct me if I am wrong)and the feel is much better on that, but I want to go for radial master cylinder.

Yes Vijay, Chip, you guys are right. A spacer can work too. Getting the right spacer can be a little tricky, the new calipers have been exteteded a wee bit to accommodate the extra diameter of the rotor.

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I am facing a problem in my Duke. Last week the meter starts displaying version and flashing and it does not start afterwards. Thought it was a batter issue and replaced with New one. Now There is no display in meter but everything works.

      What will be the problem

      Cheers !!

I just checked the Powerparts catalog and the part numbers for the 320mm rotors are different for the 2017 and 2013-2016 models. Now I don't think its possible.

Here are my two cents. If you have some code thrown up like JG.48.48 (there are many codes) or something similar followed by a low battery warning, your stator coil might be due for a replacement, even through you have changed your battery, keep a tab on this one. If you ride even after changing the battery, if the coil is not charging the battery, the battery would go low on charge and the display will throw Low Battery warning, if that's the case then your stator is up for a change that's one. Secondly, check your battery terminals for proper tightness, if the terminals are loose, the Duke can stall on you anytime. There have been numerous instances of terminals getting loose and or severed due to poor PDI and the bike just stalls and the console goes blank. This takes priority, do check your terminals are taut and snugly fit.

Thirdly check for blown fuses, remove the rear seat and you will find the fuse box, check if all the fuses are okay. If blown, replace the blown fuse with the spare ones provided in the box itself. Last resort is, remove the battery wait for like 15 mins and then install the battery and observe. Now, pray and hope all works. Else, we'll have to dig a little deeper and or replace the console itself, you never know if it's conked.

          Cheers!

Clean air filter, observe for any cracks in the air filter box. If all else is fine, then we valve timing can be inspected again. This is interesting.

Bike still with them. Still no clue of the problem. Did all the mentioned things and tried swapping parts and still no progress. Daily it's D-day for them, end of day no clue.

Guys, facing a weird issue with my D390 (2016 model, 6.7k run). I hear some part near belly pan vibrating/weird crackling noise exactly at 3K RPM, at all gears. I am not very sure whether its near the engine bay or around belly pan. I checked all the radiator hose at the bottom, belly pan seems to be stiff with no movement or loose bolts. Will be taking to service center this weekend, but has anyone faced an issue similar to this?

are you sure its from the bottom part of the bike ?
because the petrol tank cap/tank cover is known to produce a 'krrr krrr' noise on some dukes at a specific rpm (3000 ~ 5000rpm usually)
get it inspected, and maybe there is a stone or something stuck in the belly pan .. if not get the bolts tightened (sometimes even when fully tightened these plastics might cause vibes/noises.. double side tape or rubber washers might be the solution)

It's not from the fuel tank for sure. Probably belly pan or bottom of the engine, which is scary

Had this krr krr sound, causes were different each time. Vibrating coolant tank, then mudguard extension, stone in belly pan, finally speedo cable slightly touching mudguard. Now no more.

Yes, if you feel that you hear metal metal contact producing krrr or buzzing sound from underneath the belly pan area and not on the console area. The belly pan is mounted on a black metal bracket. There are instances when this metal bracket bolt goes loose and they start buzzing and produce some weird sounds. I'd suggest you check the belly pan bolts and the mounts properly torqued. Keep us posted.

After 1.5 years of owning the bike (2016 model), faced High coolant temperature issue for the first time. Was in B2B traffic and the bike just shut off with the High coolant temperature message on the display. Had to push it to right lane as there were no space on the left and waited for 10 - 12 mis to cool the engine down. Was able to ride it to an empty road nearby and noticed that the fan was not spinning at all. Check the fuse and it was OK. Called up Autoservice and told them to get the fan in stock (They had to get it from somewhere, godown maybe?). The bike shut off 3 times until I was able to get out of B2B traffic. Once I hit quite open roads, due to the motion of the bike, the temperature was under control. On reaching service center, we noticed that fan either stopped completely or was running at very low speed. Got it replaced and fixed the belly pan noise, everything back to normal now . Question is, what is the best thing to do if it happen during long rides or remote ares?

Have engine ice at home, but waiting for warranty to finish as I heard changing the coolant other than recommended may void warranty, is that right?

You were damn right about the mounts! I was told that the mounts/levers of belly pan were bent and he gave some spacers to fix that. Its free from all weird noise for now.

Welcome! Officially the Duke bug has bitten you Yes, when the coolant reaches high temp the bike turns off, and she cranks after a while one she's cooled. The fan frequently comes on and off during B2B traffic, and as you know it's pretty loud. Most probably the fan isn't running, if it's running or if the fan shaft is out of whack you'd hear a screeching sound indicating the fan isn't running as it's supposed to, or conked all which means replacement of fan is imminent.

Best thing to do when fan goes kaput in remote areas is -- WAKE UP FROM THE DREAM and hope it never happens again.

                                Cheers!
