nope. your regular towels are mostly cotton. and never wipe with a dry cloth on a dry surface.Originally posted by Gunslingin_Ridr View PostGuys, are all towels microfibers? I don't want any swirling action going on on my bike by using old shirts for cleaning.
microfiber towels are a mix of polyester and polyamide in the ratio of around 70:30 / 80:20 (most branded good quality towels will have a tag with the blend mentioned)
i picked up the abro microfiber towel from amazon for Rs.104 on a deal.. its a 80:20 and does a very good job
if you are buying online be aware that there a lot of fake 3m towels around... The abro one is still available on amazon Abro CT-210 Cleaning Cloth: Amazon.in: Car & Motorbike

It all depends how you ride it.. some guys are able to extract 30kmpl on the highway while some just manage around 25kmpl.Originally posted by Amey108 View PostWhat's the range of this beast on full tank?
When the reserve hits? And after

On hitting the 'reserve' i.e. the last two bars on the display.. approx 2.5 litres would be left in the tank.
You need to ride the bike enough a few times / fill up and only then will you know what a realistic number would be for your style of riding in various conditions.
It's always safe to start looking for a fuel station and fill up once you hit the last two bars.. a safety margin if anything else especially on the highways.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
First of all please check PDI is properly done PDI means pre delivery inspection .Originally posted by rohangkguyz plz reply
Also check there no body scratches. Oil level and coolent level is ok. Oil should be filled till middle.
Ride it once and dont accept papers and pay till you check everything
Please also check if tire is not used so much just some dust...
Check kilometres ... it shouldnt be more 5 or 10. There should be some petro..in my case it was just 1.5 litre depends upin area how much they provide..
Make sure toolkit and medikit is there.
Ask for discount before paying [emoji2]
Try to start it..it should start in first try and should be in idle properly..no shut down.
they provide saree guard and mud guard by default but in my case they gave me hand guards too so ask for these accessories
Just make sure everything is good and you are happy..then only leave showroom.. dont rush..if not good then wait for another bike whenever available. Also search forum for how to check the manufacturering date of bike by checking engine number.. it should be 2015..i got of june 2015 and 99% you will get too..
After you get it make sure you ride 1000kms in 50 days or before.. this is must for good life of bike..please use it hard means dont run it on slower speed using higher gears.. dont change oil before 1000kms after 1000kms change it to synthetic oil.. to know which oil ask some seniors and search forum
These all tips are mine..it cant be perfect but this is what ihad in mind when i selected the bike.. i got these infos just by asking all sorts of forums
Good luck and please drive safe and wear safety gears

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Actually, most of the guys marched against Cycle World for an unfair comparo of the Duke with the other involved rides, some even well-versed riders backed the idea of an unfair comparo against the Duke. All said and done, opinions differ and there is a lot that can go on a mag editor's mind, but again, at the end, it still got the pie.Originally posted by Gunslingin_RidrThat's great, but which others were the competitors? CBR300R? N300? R3? CB300F? Or other lightweight lesser cc bikes?
Cheers!

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Refinement be damned !! D390 is still the bike that gives u most fun per rupee. So no wonder, it is still the street bike to beat. Whoever comes to Indian market now, will be pitted against D390 as a measure of standard. The most important feature, ABS comes as a std. So competition is now forced to provide ABS at least as an option, which is a healthy sign for biking in India.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Do you happen to know which were the bikes that the comparo was done with? D390's a good bike, but isn't creme de la creme when it's pitted against the likes of Honda, Yamaha or Kawasaki.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostActually, most of the guys marched against Cycle World for an unfair comparo of the Duke with the other involved rides, some even well-versed riders backed the idea of an unfair comparo against the Duke. Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
I agree but let's not forget the lineage n pedigree of each of these manufacturers. They all come from diversified background that clearly manifest in their products. But even when pitted against multi cylinder bikes of similar capacities(various makes), D390 can hold it's own n surprisingly win many of those bouts. The problem is with us, we never realise the worth of what we have, we are aspirational lot. I saw a duke 390 with black trellis frame, my question - are the newer dukes coming with black frame?? or did he paint it black? because it was really black, didn't look like it was painted black aftermarket.. like factory black..
