Review of the KTM Duke 390 and Long Term Review of the KTM Duke 390

Technical Specifications of the KTM Duke 390

    Dear All,

Just got the delivery of the much awaited bike. Surprised to see that there is no ownership thread yet. So here I go....

Note: RC series owners, kindly post our queries in the ownership experience link below.

Hey Atul. Can you please tell me the final gear ratio of your Duke 390. I have an RC390 and it sits at 6000rpm on 100kmph.mine is 15/45. Couldn't understand that how a 14/45 can make your Duke ait at 5000 rpm at the same speed.

Is the 2015 D390 heavier than 2013 one? Because when I test rode, I felt it to be lighter than my Unicorn. But I'm feeling the 2015 bike's not any lighter than Unicorn 150.

Just a small query. I know its a new bike so it will heat lot but as soon as I run few kilometers in the city.. heat meter goes to top like just 2 bars left in meter.. fan starts..

Is this heat normal ? This fast? I ride it in the city and yes I was able to use just from 1 to 3 gears only.

Yeah. Unless it shows high temperature, there's nothing to worry about.

Absolutely normal. On hot days this will go up further by two bars and you will heal the heat. But, unless the console shows any signs of overheating, its all normal.

Thanks for pointing it out. We'll look into it.

                            Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                            THE END

                              Hi guys,

I've just completed 9000 km on my Duke 390 and gave it for the second free service. I had problems with the chain as it was getting slack every 2500 km. I spoke to the service guy and he said all Duke's have to change their chain every 10,000 odd km. Is this true? Have any of you'll faced the problem?

I did a little research on the owners manual and it said that I needed to lube the chain every 600 km (which I didn't know or do), can any of you'll suggest a good oil and chain spray?

                              Cheers,

I am getting a second hand KTM original knee and elbow guards.. Owner say he purchased them just for a trip and now he want to sell. There are no scratches and also no accident was happened. He is selling it for just 1000/- Should i purchase it?

Getting pricey jackets and pants are out of my budget.
