Happy news 390 Dukers. KTM announces retrofit of Slipper Clutch on older Duke 390 at a very reasonable price. Here is where I found the news: Motorbeam. Sorry if this news has been posted earlier!

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hey, you guys, I recently bought a used Sep2013 Duke 390. It's one awesome ride, but I have two niggling problems.
1. The engine stalls stalls during quick downshifts while decelerating fast. This happens when the clutch is pressed, but if I suddenly leave the clutch, of course the engine catches some of the wheel speed and starts back up. The first owner claims that he never faced this problem, but also says that this is a standard 390 problem.
>> POTENTIAL SOLUTION: I heard that having the throttle body cleaned should clear away this problem.
2. The speedo shows ZERO at times when the speed is clearly non zero (40-80). This goes away when I press the clutch or change gears. But this does happen a few times in every long trip, for a few seconds.
>> POTENTIAL SOLUTION: replacing the stator coil.
So I have the following questions.
1. Are the potential solns written above good guesses? What could the other likely reasons be?
2. Will these problem be covered under warranty? If not, how much would this procedure most probably cost? I haven't transferred it to my name yet, and I heard that a lot of warranties don't extend to the second owner, should I try and get it sorted in this period?
Thanks very much for your help.

The second problem solution is correct.. Get it replaced under warranty..It'll be fixed.Originally posted by Panini View PostHey, you guys, I recently bought a used Sep2013 Duke 390. It's one awesome ride, but I have two niggling problems.

But if possible do stay at the SVC when they are changing the stator coil because when they close the casing, they apply some adhesive to the wire that goes inside the casing, please make sure that is properly sealed, because if not, there will be engine oil leak from that area..

Have you decoded the Frame number and checked ? Is it a 2015 manufactured version ? Also , more importantly, does it have the slipper clutch in them ? Reason for asking is that, never heard of the new lot reaching bangalore.Originally posted by snapppy View PostNo waiting period as such. I just got my duke 390 delivered. Yup, Feb 2015 manufacturing, comes with all the 2015 changes including the slipper clutch. Mine was one of the first 2015 models in Bangalore.

That's awesome.Originally posted by snapppy View PostYup, Feb 2015 manufacturing, comes with all the 2015 changes including the slipper clutch. Mine was one of the first 2015 models in Bangalore.
So how is the slipper clutch so far. How much of a difference you feel in real world usage.

Havent ridden the old 390 to give a comparision, but coming from a R15 V1 the clutch does feel lighter and easy to operate.Originally posted by krish2778 View PostThat's awesome.

Still in the running in phase, so havent really seen any major difference in engine braking. The engine braking still does kick-in but not sure how it would behave once the RPM crosses a certain limit.
Standard stuff. Id proof, Address proof and if you are going for loan, then financial stuff like bank accnt statement, pay slips etc.Originally posted by wrecker View PostWhat are the docs i need to submit?

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi everyone. I currently own a Duke 200 and I am going to replace it with a Duke 390. One major irritant for me with the 200 was engine overheating. As you guys discuss I came to know 390 also has engine overheating issues. Does anyone fitted a bigger radiator in your bike? Does it work fine?
P.S: Duke 200 when ridden in colder climate where the temperature bar will be around 2 bar lower, the engine performs well and the power delivery is very smooth ie not snatchy.
