Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Here is a similar mod that i came across which was carried out using a spare ktm's mudguard (saw this bike at the svc). I noticed the muck that covered the rear brake caliper unit which was probably caused due to riding in the wet/slush. I am assuming the mudguard caused the muck to be directed downwards ? And am not sure that if this mod not there, then the muck might have not landed on the brake caliper..i haven't yet ridden my duke in the slush yet to confirm it. btw, yours definitely does look more pleasing to the eye.Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View Post

Bro i also got the fan replaced due to overheating, my bike stopped in the middle of the road . I have a d200, when i changed it , it was just 4 mnths old ...Originally posted by worrisomebear View PostA friend had the fan replaced due to overheating with his new bike. difficult to understand why such things happen with a new bike.

I'm looking for quality replacement handlebar grips. I did look up some brands on ebay but none of em have any sort of user reviews.. Any good leads on the same would be appreciated.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
I just bought a FZ mudguard for some 250 bucks and 4 screws with bolts. After that its just the matter of cutting off a little from both ends of the FZ mudguard and drill 2 holes at each ends for the screws.Originally posted by Shantnu View PostLooks really nice dude!! Very neat ...could you share what adaptations? And the cost? .... And the fitting process too if poss :P . .. Interested in getting this done!
Cheers!
The KTM guard is just too wide at the point above the calipers. That causes mud to drip down. Mine just fits the wheel tightly. So, such things should not happen. But, this can only be tested for sure when rain comes.Originally posted by s1d View PostHere is a similar mod that i came across which was carried out using a spare ktm's mudguard (saw this bike at the svc). Okhay. You screwed the front to? as in how to keep it aboe the tyre? At the rear I see it screwed to the original mud guard, but in the front?Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostI just bought a FZ mudguard for some 250 bucks and 4 screws with bolts. I was thinking of removing the original and putting this one instead ....will have to figure out how to hold it in place at the rear, maybe will need a metal rod like the one used on the original.

The front is screwed to the original mudguard at the front. Also, I do not suggest removing the original mud guards. They provide excellent support to add the new mudguard at the center.Originally posted by Shantnu View PostOkhay. You screwed the front to? as in how to keep it aboe the tyre? Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello ,
A little off topic guys, but have to buy a helmet in 2-3 days. Budget is around 4K and surely below 5K. I will check for Snug fit en all. Not too finicky on other things, except for 2 things I want to avoid -
1) The ears hurting after 30-40 minutes of wearing the Helmet (I wear spectacles so even more of a problem with me) and
2) Too much wind noise
Does anyone know of a helmet which doesnt have these problems? Heard most MT helmets have this problem. Advice would be very helpful. Thanks
.
Cheers. (have posted in the helmets section as well!)

MT higher end models might be a bit better, than the entry levels which had the problem of the ear pain.

SOL helmets are notorious for having weak visors - they scratch out too soon. I have one! In fact I am looking for a new helmet too - I may go for good old LS2.Originally posted by krish2778 View PostLook into Sparx, SOL.Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

Ok, Never owned a SOL, so not sure.Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostSOL helmets are notorious for having weak visors - they scratch out too soon. I have one! In fact I am looking for a new helmet too - I may go for good old LS2.
But then you can look into sparx, having one, using for almost 2 years now, only one scratch on visor(daily use) and paddings are still holding good.

Sparx is a good brand. But it is no longer available. I searched a lot before settling for HJC FG17

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Nice mod brother. But I think covering the rear tyre almost entirely will pose a problem when driving in mud. Mud can get trapped in there and damage the tyre. However its just a theory, do post your reviewsOriginally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostGot a rear mudguard fitted from FZ V2's mudguard (with some adaptations) -
Looks pretty good according to me!
