Finally a niggle that is irritating me. The key hole cover of the tank cap is rattling and I am not sure whats the workaround!
Experiencing this, I had this buzzing, totally irritating noise from exactly the tank key hole cap. Rubberized silicone gasket does the trick -- seal it around the fuel lid key cap on the inside, this way it doesn\'t make it odd and makes the seating perfect, my jugaad fix. Works!
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
Thank You for the pointer. Any idea where can I get this gasket?
Try sticking a BINDI (the ones which women wear on their forehead), under the fuel tank key hole cover. Even the lock in some bikes seems to add to the vibration. U can cut a thin strip of OHP film, and insert it around the lock. helps minimize vibes.
Also check the belly pan. I used to have this buzzing noise at around 4000 to 5000rpm. And it seemed that the noise was coming from the fuel cap area..but it was actually coming from the belly pan. The part that is right next to the oil filter cover, the belly pan there is extremely close the oil filter cover so everytime i revved the bike the belly pan would touch the oil filter cover and start making that irritating buzzing noise. I cut a small piece of rubber and shoved it in between the two and now the buzzing noise is gone.

Thank You. Will start with the Bindi option since it is simpler.
I would suggest you take this temporary fix with a pinch of salt. The bike is very adept at trolling. I\'ve experienced the same, as long as the roads are good, you\'re set, once you\'re into bumpy sections on and off, you\'re in for a treat. Get some silicone sealant, the ones they use to seal glass, like fish tanks etc, apply some near the key hole cap, in the RIGHT amount, and you should be set for a long time.
Cheers!

Any harm in using 10W40 oil?? I have 2 liters of motul 7100 10W40.
I would suggest not to do so. Considering the bike\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s temperature characteristics, which is quite a lot, oil thinning is the last you should expect for your engine. Using the right grade helps to maintain the viscosity of the engine oil in extreme temperatures, and in turn aids in the life of your engine. If you have a scooter, you can use the oil you\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ve mentioned above if in case you feel they are being shelved. Bottomline. No!

You can go as low as you want with the Winter viscosity and as high as you want with the operating viscosity, but only as long as it sits within the recommended operating range of the bike. So in short, NO!

Hey guys,
my bike is around 3500kms old and now has developed a serious problem,i would like to know if anyone has had the same problem, or the cause of the problem.
The problem: First it started to lose power while on humps the fuel pump light next to the shift indicator glows and there would be complete loss of power and then the power would be back, it didnt bother me much then as it was on humps and then the same problem developed while accelerating it was a bit concerning and now the bike stalls completely with the fuel pump light glowing at whatever speed it pleases
IT has practically become dangerous now to ride the bike.
what to do(the showroom in my city is set to open in a few days waiting for that).

You can start with a few steps mate:
1. Empty the fuel tank and get fresh fuel full tank.
2. Remove the fuel filter and either replace it or clean/drain it properly.
3. Check if the spark plug is working properly and is in good condition.
4. This could very well be the signs of a dying fuel pump may be because of poison flavored adulterated fuel or low fuel. This step might require service center\'s inputs and work.

Came back from a 700kms round trip last evening and I didn\'t face this issue. But you are right this needs some attention as it might crop up anytime again. I will start with the Bindi and then proceed to sealant if results are not satisfactory.
