Yup. A vibration that grows in the mid range RPMs. I asked the KTM service guy about it and got "Vo sab plastic hai, vibrate to hoga hi" as an answer

    On a different note,
I've run out of the free services on my 390 now.. Anyways the next ones are paid servicings.... Wanna know if there are any good 3rd party service centers in Pune? Also, should i go for 3rd part or should I stick to the company service centers??

Exactly. It grows in mid range. Feels as if something is rubbing against plastic. Anyways I am having trouble with display as well and it'll be replaced.

Probably loose sockets or wires under headlamp assembly.
I changed pilot lamp on mine and some thing is rattling inside. I have to open it again.

          I weigh 65kgs. So weight, it isn't.

I'll try stiffening up the rear.
          Thanks.

The paid services also need to be performed at an authorized SVCs if you want to keep your bike's warranty intact. Where did you used to give your bike for the free ones.??

The warranty period is for 2 Years or 30,000 Kms, whichever is earlier(Don't you read the Service Manual??)..

My display console's vibration noise sometimes exceeds the sound of engine, Lol.. Got the same negative reply from Ktm svc assistants! This started since I removed the number plate... I gonna try some rubber washers and see if the noise reduces!

Sounds like you have quite an issue there! I don't face that much of a noise... just a mild vibration going on... my number plate is still on though.....

You removed the number plate but did you also remove the screws that hold it in place? If so replace them and vibes will go. If not just go to any hardware shop, buy some washers for taps, install over the existing washers on the screws and vibes will go.

Last weekend I did a highway trip from Bengaluru to a place called Kavu which is in between Sullia & Puttur towns on SH88.

Took Bengaluru-Channarayapatna-Holenarasipur-Arakalagud-Shanivarasanthe-Somwarpet-Madikeri-Sullia-Kavu route for onward journey. Idea was to leave by 4:30AM and unusually, I got up late at 4:50AM. Finally left at 5:30 AM from my home near Rammurthynagar. The chill was something! Wasn't feeling great till I stopped at Mayura Hotel near Bellur cross.

I think I reached there around 7ish and left around 7:20AM. Uptill now it was dark, cold & the windblast was making me very uncomfortable. Once I left from here, I was lot more relaxed and with the sun up I started feeling better.

Filled up at Channarayapatna BP outlet and it took 8+ litres of petrol. I was quite surprised considering that I left home with full tank.

Crossed Holenarasipur, Arakalagud and Shanivarasanthe quickly. By now I was enjoying the ride. Soft rays of winter sun, sparse traffic and good roads were making me smile Thought of giving myself a break after crossing Shanivarasanthe and took a few pictures. Thats all I could do with the mobile anyways as there was no signal.

From now, the twisties start and it was really fun! I am no foot peg scraper but riding along these curves itself was a pleasure!

Reached Somwarpet around 9:35AM, called up wifey and rode on to Madikeri. Duke's handling was a revelation on the Madikeri Ghats. I always thought this is one of the most difficult ghats as the turns are quite sharp but Duke managed it so very well!! I must have taken 30 mins (?) to Sampaje. I know for sure I take much longer in my car.

Finally after a brief stop at Sullia to buy few medicines I was at my destination at 11:30 AM, 6 Hrs after I started. There were no aches, pains, discomfort whatsoever.Iwas good for another 200kms atleast. Hard seat of the Duke did NOT cause any problems and I am convinced people who think of seat modification without even riding it long enough should ride long distance 1st and then decide.

Return trip was three days later via Shiradi Ghats. I was ill advised about its repair and made a wrong decision. Started at 12:45PM via Amchinadka-Perlampadi-Bellare-Panja-Kukke-Gundya-Shiradi-Hassan-Bengaluru. The upper reaches of the Ghats are still in tatters and I dropped my bike on Pot-holes three times. By Gods grace no damage to the wheels.

At 3:30PM I was out of hell called Shiradi Ghats. This time my back was aching. The suspension is so UNFORGIVING. every damn thing on the road is felt. I decided to stop and drink some water. And for want of better business clicked this snap.

Somehow the four lane highway seemed more enjoyable on the return leg. From this point on I didn't stop anywhere except once for Petrol just before Kunigal. I think its a new bunk. Again it took around 8+ litres. Finally reached home at 6:15 PM. 5.5 hours after I started. Takes me minimum of seven hours by car. The magic of not stopping at toll booths!!

All said, it was an enjoyable trip and I will be doing this stretch twice a month for next few months.

Only grouse I have about the bike is its tank range and HARD suspension. If the roads are not good then the saddle of this bike is a WRONG place to be.

i have the same problem. Tight the screws from inside by holding the washers.
