    3. Petrol tank "Cup + the rubber dampener that comes with it" recently at third service @10500km

All three were under warranty and I paid nothing for it, not even labor charges. They tried to write Rs100 as labor in the job card for the disc rotor replacement, but I told them firmly that I will not pay a penny and they struck it out.
s1d, Thank you for the confirmation.
Went to Banjara SVC and blasted them, will be getting the left side fork seal replaced for free.
Won't pay for consumables, asked them to adjust from previous labor charge.

Warranty jobs are free, even the labour charge. I got two of em done-clutch cover gasket and clutch hub nut tightening.

I also second getting the job done at SVC.

To be honest i was bowled over by the Duke even before I began my research. I was initially looking for a Duke 200, though that Duke 390 would be too hot to handle. I considered the CBR 250 ABS Repsol edition, then i read in the ownership of CBR that Honda was using sub standard parts in the newly released model, plus it was a heavier and bike with faring. Since i already own a Faired bike i.e. Yamaha Fazer i know that moving around in heavy traffic can be quiet a headache with wider bikes. Now considering that i will be working in Metro cities where a small gap can help a Naked bike escape the traffic situation, the CBR 250 was ruled out. I read more and more about 390 and saw that despite being a beast it was not that difficult to handle considering that majority of the D390 owners here have switched from a 150-180cc bike and 390 CC seemed a more viable upgrade over a 150 CC bike. Since I had made up my mind to lighten my wallet on a D390 , the new Pulsar releases did not actually interest me much.
If budget is not an issue i think Ninja 300 also comes in contention ( its priced almost twice that of a Duke 390 and as per PowerDrift reviews if you leave the money out of equation, the Ninja 300 bike also is a killer bike from all aspects).

In short the bikes i considered were mainly the D390,D200 and CBR250R. I did test ride a RC390 , it was super fun but position is not suitable for people on the up north side of 25 unless you are a really fit person (personal opinion). It will take a toll on your body for slightly longer distance rides

I was charged 1xx bucks for head gasket replacement and 4xx for fork seal replacement, both were replaced under warranty.
Go back with the bill and get the money back. You should not pay a single penny for warranty replacement

that consumables is another scam that every service center irrespective of the brand charges. and then these ktm guys are also charging something called coupon charge of around 20rs. This 'consumable charge' is only charged during a regular service (free & paid) and not during repairs which are carried out outside the 'service'
I don't mind tipping the mechanics but I get mad when they 'officially' try to bill and scam me for things that should be done for free !
sadly the quality/service at ktm banjara is coming down.. lack of spares, delays, no proper answers. It used to be better when this guy Phani was the service adviser. their only saving grace seems to be the mechanic srikanth.

Nowadays, I feel the gear shifts have become bit hard. Especially 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. Anybody facing the same issue? Please do let me know.

                          PRESSURE FOR MICHELIN REAR TYRES

                          Hi guys,
The recommended pressure for the rear Metz was 29/32 psi.
I just got a Michelin 150/60 R17 Pilot Street radial, since I mainly go touring on the highway.

Does anyone know the ideal pressure for this harder compound tyre?

Anyone else with experience using this tire? Any suggestions, indications/contra-indications?

                          Thanks.

Thanks lingesh sai kumar: wrote bat instead of psi.. whoops..work units creeping out of work.

Its not bar its psi, and ideal rear tire pressure would be 35 psi for a 65 to 85 kg rider.

And 32 bar equals 460 psi.
