Thanks a lot VJ! This helps me to make an informed decision. But, just out of interest, what do the other characters in the VIN mean?

      Hi all,

Wanted to share a picture of my bike after having the wheels painted. I must say, this is THE best 550rs spent on my bike ever!

I got it from the SVC itself, but since I am good friends with the SVC manager so I got done literally for free.

My console noise issue solved! Used 4 tap washers worth Rs. 4/- to tighten with the windscreen screws.

P.S : My issue arised due to removal of number plate.

            • Replacement tyre for Duke 390?

I just read the official document from KTM regarding authorized replacement tyres. They mention only the Metzeler SporTec & the Continental Sport Attack 2. Does this mean any other tyre would void the 2 year warranty?
Also, which is better? I'm happy with the Metzeler so far. Is the continental lot better? Can I get it here in Pune?
              Ride safe!

My bike is 8 months and 13.5k km old. So time for new set of tyres.
I am planning to go for michelin pilot street radial (thailand made) for my 390. Metz are out of budget. Has anyone used the michelins?
Does the difference in rear tyre size (140/70 instead of 150/60) create any problems?
Please advice soon as the rear one almost bald now.
Also how much do Continental Sport Attack 2 cost?

I thought only tyre size and speed rating is the thing to watch for, well this is new [only metzeler or continental] metzeler is any time better than continental and its cheaper too [Motorcycle Tires & Wheels - RevZilla] metzeler m7 is laso a better option with more mileage on tyre. but the rates a killing us in Indian market

My friend is running the Michelin 140/70 on the rear. He paid 3.5k for it last month.
Grip wise its decent. ( Once you've been spoilt by the Metz, anything else will seem less grippy. ) If Metz is 10/10, the Michelin will prolly be 8.
Due to the increase in the aspect ratio, the bike is now more forgiving over bad roads and potholes. Also, the sensitive alloy paranoia is laid to rest.

Probably that's not the radial version.

Isnt that list from uk page. most of the companies are present in india but size nahi mil raha. Its going to be two years but 110/70 54w tl & 150/60 66w tl is not readily available in India .

p.s im not advertising anything. just my limited info and that store is situated in my city. other one is performance racing but there also i couldnt find any tyres.
