There is no better therapy than riding a bike down a straight road at full throttle with the sound of the engine for company.

UPDATE:Its been two months, so i thought of sharing my experience with you guys. I have driven my hooligan for almost 4000kms.I have enjoyed each and every moment with it.I followed the user manual for my run-in period and very rarely redlined the bike.I changed my engine oil when it was 200kms on the odo, found a lot of metal debris.I personally recommend changing the engine oil early from avoiding the metal debris to circulate inside the engine. At 500kms I noticed a very very minute leak on the right hand side of the head, at first service it was rectified and the leak has never occured again till now. The first service cost around 1800Rs.I have done some long trips(chennai-pondicherry),(chennai-yel agiri) and (chennai-villupuram). During all these trips the bike performed magnificently and never faced any single problem. You can just cruise all day long at 130 and 140km/hr. The leech like grip from the metzeler are just awesome during dry and wet. The abs system just works wonderfully thanks to bosch, the abs system has saved my life more than couple of times. Always remeber to clean and lube your chain whenever you find the chain dirty. Dont wait for 500 or 600kms. I always clean and lube it every 300 or 400kms and adjust the chain whenever I find chain slack. Taking care of your chain will avoid early sprocket and chain change. I always wash it every weekend and make it sparkle. The duke 390 handles like a dream, and every time you crack open the throttle, the smile you have in your face(no words to explain).I have always used speed petrol and very rarely used normal petrol.I find the mileage to be more by 2 or 3kms when using speed. I also noticed the 390 heating up more when using normal petrol. In city, I get an average of 23 to 24 km/l. In the highways I get around 38to 40 km/l if I cruise at 90-100 km/hr.Cruising at 130 to 140 km/hr will reduce the mileage to 29-30 km/l.During city usage I ride for around 210 to 220 kms on a tankful basis. On highways the range expands to 300-400kms depending upon the speed your crusing. A few pages back I complained about the exhaust note being very muted, after writing a mail to [email protected], my bike was taken to the service center. The mechanics found an air leak near the mouth of the muffler and have rectified it. Now my duke 390 is just as loud as other 390s. . I have removed the saree guard and the tyre hugger. Without it, the bike looks even more sexier. During rains,my shirt, helmet and the rear seat used to get dirty and wet even with the tyre hugger on. But without it, I found only the rear seat and little of my shirt getting dirty and wet.(STRANGE).I have removed the hand guards because I find the handguards of low quality.I have ordered continental gts like rvms (the one which comes on the sides of the handlebar) for my bike.i took off the stock rvms. The bike is pure stock aprart from the powerpart windshield, powerpart tankpad and a few stickers.I have also added a roots windtone which is 100times louder than the stock horn and it is also the same size of the oem horn, so fitting it isnt a problem.I have installed philips diamond vision of the same watt and a white led parking light. My hooligan has changed the way I ride, I am totally in love with her, wish I can hug and sleep with it during nights.I have reached a maximum of 180 km/hr and thats the limit of a stock 390, once you hit 180 km/hr the rev limiter starts kicking in. I feel the duke can do a lot more without the rev limit. Always remember to take good care of your bike and it will always take good care of you. Here a few pics of my hooligan. Always remeber to wear a helmet and essential riding gears.Thanks.[/IMG][/IMG][/IMG]

Saba, excellent post there. It's post like these that are more yearned here, practical, yet subtly influencing thoughts and opinions, keep it up!

And +1 for your bike's sticker setup and overall mod!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

          THE END

Even R1 rims crack if it hits a big pot hole at 80kpmh. Duke is street performance bike with low profile tires and light weight body and rims.
That fake accent almost made me puke. Why cant people speak in neutral Indian accent? Other than that the video is quite informative.

Please get it serviced as per schedule else it will void warranty. No two ways about that.

I also have Nov 2013 bike which has done ~5700kms and run through all free services.

There is no point in changing the oil sooner than the 5K km intervals (apart from the first service ofcourse). You will just be wasting the oil and your money.

That is not strictly correct. Inquire with your SVC. In Pune, the only thing you loose after your time duration is over is the Free SVC. It will be paid. The warranty is not voided.

I was told by Mr. Venkat Shyam of Auto Service that the maximum duration they can allow is 12 days after the scheduled service date. Beyond this time the warranty will be voided.

Since these things are done 'online' now there is no dealer discretion I was told.

I would err on the side of caution.
