Review of castrol power1 racing oil(cp1r) on RC390.
I have done about 500kms on cp1r till date, and the experience is excellent and way above what i had expected. It did feel hot, usual 8 bars, but fan was running more than often in the initial 50-100kms but its all good now.The bike redlines smoothly and with a sense of urgency unmatched by 7100. City performance is good, and where the bike used to lug previously at specific gear/rpm combo on 7100, its going absolutely fine on cp1r.
On highways too, same thing, smooth acceleration and good fe. Ripping the throttle returns about 24-25ish on console, small improvement of 1-2kmpl on same stretch over 7100. Also happened to do a mini trackday, and it was good too. The exhaust pops are almost gone, and cooling/heating properties are similar as the 7100; 8 bars normally, 7 bars on early winter morning in mumbai . Overall, a good choice over 7100, and adds to the list of my minor mods having a substantial effect on behaviour of bike, viz Usage of Adon p, keiti traction pads, and gravity chain oiler.

Ps: Ensure you lay your hands on genuine castrol product, Ive heard many fakes are being circulated in market. I got it from navi mumbais castrol dealer.

      That's good to know.
You mean with Castrol bike is more cool and fan kicks in less often?

Did any one find a Jugaad for...

          1. Vibrating Fuel Cap - Creating Irritating Noise.
          2. Leg Guard Allen Key Bolts - After a few thousand kms the bolts break.
          3. Some noise coming from rear something hitting.

          Regards,

            1. Try tightening the allen key bolts near the fuel cap with the allen key from the toolkit
            2. No idea what you are talking about.
            3. On the underbelly exhaust outlet there is a silver cover. Two screws hold the exhaust cover in place, try tightening them. Even better install rubber washers. This was the thing in my case.

              2. The Engine/Leg Guards are held by 4 bolts....have 4 ppl facing the same issue...the bolts literally break in2 pieces & removing them is a pain.!!

I am also facing this issue and in my case one of the right side bolts has broken and got stuck in the frame. Due to this i had to remove my leg guard.

                        Hi .

New in the forum and I just created a thread at the presentation section.

I've been reading this thread but haven't found a lot about the new version (2015). I'm from Colombia and the new version here is marketed as 2016. I won't tell the whole boring story but I happened to switch from a 2015 D390 to the 2016 version. All in all I'm pretty satisfied with the improvements on the new model. However, there are a few things I'm not really happy with then I hope you can share your thoughts with me since the new version for India is pretty much the same Colombian 2016 model.

                        The goods

                        - The slipper clutch is way easier to operate. No handache after 30 min of heavy traffic
                        - Less vibrations are felt in the handlebar.
                        - No burning legs as a result of the shroud covering the fan.

There are a lot of things I haven't tested properly due to the running in period. (Tyres, throttle travel and so on)

                        The concerns.

                        - The dealer said they revised the front suspension travel in the new version but I wouldn't describe this as an improvement as the front fork compresses to the least touch on the front brake. Do you have the same impression?
                        - While they solved the burning legs issue, US users have reported several fan problems with the new design. Are there as many issues reported in India? Should I be concerned about this?
                        - Generally speaking there are less buzzes and noises in the new version but the new one has indeed one of the noises -loose bolt like - the former version used to have. It seems to come from somewhere near the headlight but I haven't found the source of that annoying noise. Anyone can shed some light about it?

                        That's all for now.

Thanks in advance for your answers

Guys, had a little incident. Went over a pothole at ~70 kph. Got a little bend on the rim sleeve. Any help on where to get that fixed in Bangalore?

Is there air loss? Don't get it fixed. Get it replaced under insurance. Fixing affects the overall strength and rigidity of the alloy.

Agree with chinmaya. Alloys are not supposed to be repaired once damaged, the loose structural rigidity, replace it keeping in view SAFETY aspect.

No air loss, tyre breakage/scuffs or any handling changes. Don't even feel anything's wrong.
