I thought if i could sell the bike in the same year i might make a good deal.. but everything just fell apart.. now im broke... im sharing my story so that if someone decides to sell their bike through olx , quikr .. u should first arrange a meet in a public place, ask atleast two of ur friends to accompany, first ask for their identity and ask them to show the cash that they brought to buy.. even u can take a photo of the person too..
The same thing could happen with a car.. wen u sit for a test drive next to thief.. he would say that im done with the drive & ask u to take the wheel wen u get out of the car to come to the other side he would drive away.. so be safe friends there are so many people out there who would do anything to get ur things..

Hey, I am terribly sorry for your loss. I understand how hard it would be for you to see your bike stolen in front of your eyes. Please get over the horrible incident and move on. You had decided to sell the bike (already your inner peace had gone), so you posted the add. Now it is stolen, police filed an FIR and it's time to claim Insurance. Since this bike is not even one year old, with slight depreciation you might get almost full advantage. Buy yourself a new piece of mind, which you will not sell anytime sooner.

Fuel Overflow tube blocked? Only then fuel can overflow through the lid and flow into the engine or exhaust.

SVC mother ****ers sometimes fail to put things back in place properly. Many a times my fuel overflow pipe was left disconnected on the ZMA. Another reason could be that the tube might've gotten pinched, happened when I once lifted the tank to do some wiring, long story short, water got into fuel tank.

                    Guys,

Can you please help me with this? I know the duke is a "raging bull" and it is "jerky" at city speeds, is there any way to tame this?
Specifically, will changing the sprocket size help this? Or does this has something to do with the fuel mapping and I compulsorily need those ecu remaps or adapters that sell for 20k a pop?

Personally, I dont like the power delivery of the duke, I would prefer if it were in line with the P220 or ZMA or CBR. Anyway else this can be done?
                    Regardless, Life shall go on.

How old is your bike? I have found the jerkiness improves a bit by around 2k km. But just a bit. It will never come anywhere close to the ZMA. The best way to ride is to try to reach the rpm limit in every gear

Also before going for ecu remap, I would recommend you to take a long ride on a remapped bike. I tried a bike with Kirus but frankly there was not too much of improvement.

The nozzle of the fuel pump nozzle is still quite far from the tank when the fireball starts from the ground up.

I suspect that the attendant may have released fuel (maybe accidentally) before the nozzle was in the fuel tank (or whilst taking payment) and this fell onto the hot exhaust/cat which caused the fireball. As the bike tipped over more fuel would have flowed out of the tank which added fuel to the fire (no pun intended).

My sympathies to the rider whom I suspect would have sustained grade 2nd degree burns to his lower limbs. A very important point to note is that the gear which he was wearing definitely seemed to protect his upper body especially his face and in particular his eyes. Don't think he was wearing any protective trousers and his pants literallty went on fire (most likely denims which would have soaked up the fuel like a sponge).

An important lesson to us all on the use of protective gear.

I am planning to buy KTM Duke 390 as i want to upgrade from my pulsar 150.But i read many people saying about heating issue, oil leakage and breaking of the alloys so i am some what worried.Whether shall i wait for Yamaha R3 and R25 or any other upcoming bikes in this price range of @2.5 lacs??.I want to hear from KTM 390 owners and some one who can guide me through this confusion TIA

                            Hahaha. Raging bull indeed.

The thing is that the KTM fuel mapping is wrong at 2k-3k rpm. It just delivers power in fits and starts at that rpm. This will happen in every gear. But, will be more noticeable in lower gears. Solution - Ride the bike above 5k rpm. This is very much possible if you are at speeds of 30kmph and above. If the speed is below this, you have to make an effort to keep the bike in a lower gear. This will come naturally once you adjust to the bike. But still, if you are at crawling speed (<15 kmph) you can not do anything as you are already in 1st gear. This is what is generally called as the "raging bull" phenomenon! And is responsible for the impression that the Duke hates traffic.

I feel KTM has done this purposely to inject some 'character' into the machine. Does ECU remaps help? No idea. Those who have those remaps have not reported any significant improvements in their reviews though.
Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

This is all based on the ECU da, the mapping yes. Though this has been improved upon on newer lots, the jerky-ness would be present on all very high compression engines, similar to lugging the engine. B2B traffic would be one, where the Duke wouldn't want to be. I'd suggest you keep your 220 for city, use this exclusively for high-way purposes. The newer lots have improved clutch play/feel factor, which should definitely aid in bee to bee traffic, but again, engine temperature, knock, all depends on the way the rider rides.

CBR 250R is worse in city traffic, you need frequent gear shifts, but once past 5k, it's such an amazing machine. And consider this, Honda is darn costlier than KTM or Yamaha at least when it comes to spares. Your best bet, save the 220, give the old chap some good makeover, and use it as a commuter. Personally nothing gives the solid feel the 220 gives, be it grunt, raw power and the looks. I regret selling mine, you don't have do that. Just my two cents.

                                Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                                The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
