Sharath, bro can you please explain about what you said? Are you saying that complete tank needs to be replaced?

    Cheers
Not the tank, just the top plastic case. It is cheaper to replace than getting a genuine Teflon coat and on top of it you can get creative and add your own sticker design on the tank, personalise.

Always insist on replacing the gasket, and while replacing it, make sure the surfaces are cleaned thoroughly (maybe with some petrol/brake or carb cleaner) and then use a little bit of gasket paste along with the gasket ,especially around that O-O part and put it back together.
I had this done on my 200 and not a single leak ever since, the first leak seems to have occurred because the first time it was removed for another reason and a new gasket was not used. the gasket set now also includes the 4 rubber washers that go under the bolts which hold the valve cover.

My observation has been that it is mostly the 390's which use the motul 300v which seem to develop this leak. It also hit me that quite a few pulsar's had a gasket leak when they used FS oil especially the 300v.
I had this sweating issue near the O-O ring at the top of cylinder head. The SVC guys just put a sealant, didn't replace the gasket. But the sealant is holding well. Mine is stock June 2014 bike. I am concerned about the svc guys fooling around with the cylinder head and since I stay in a remote place in karnataka currently, I don't have the option of going to another svc. Will get it checked after I relocate to bangalore.

Finally after lots of trouble and disappointment, The Bike is here

Have completed around 230kms in a week. (70km by the dealer ). Takes a day or two to get the shifting right and match the rpm.
Ride from Showroom to home was thrilling since it was on TC and no papers were given to me by the dealer. The experience is insane.
That pull when you blip the throttle and your bike from 20 to 80 in no time. Super adrenaline rush.

After 120kms started feeling the vibration humming noise around 2k-4k RPM. Its a bit annoying. But noise fades once i am above 4k. Any Idea ?
Have started shifting gears at 6k RPM. Hope I'm doing it right. console shows 29-30km/l not sure how accurate is that.
Also, Some time on high speed I hear a sudden chain slap kinda noise & some weird squeaky noise when hit a mild bump. Seems like something touches something on bump. any idea with this ?

Seat and engine heat doesn't bother much. I am comfortable with it.

Had a horrible experience with KTM Goregaon (Suryoday Bajaj) - Suryoday motors Pvt. Ltd. Highly not recommended. Avoid it. Got my bike after almost 2 months from booking. And 45 days after making the full payment. They delivered the bike without even washing it. There was no excitement left or good feeling while taking the delivery. Very bad customer relation. Miss communication to the core. Somehow I took the delivery of the bike.

Anyways, Happy with the bike as of now Will keep on updating. #

        Cheers.

I was going to do the booking from same place. Stay in Malad.

          Thanks for the heads up.
Was 'MIITRA' the guy at the showroom ? [Guy with beard]
I have been told that the delivery will happen in 15~20 days.

When did you order and when did you get the delivery exactly and what were you promised by the dealer.

And price on road is 2.2L

Can you suggest a different place from where i can buy ?

Sorry to butt in, but I guess this is useful info.
My experience with Kanchan at Kanjurmarg was smooth. However, if thats too far away from Goregaon, I discovered that there was a new showroom/SVC right next door to me at Sakinaka owned by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable fellow. Mohit Ahuja 022-38539847. I happen to know he just unloaded a fresh batch at his godown this morning.

They are looking into the vibes I mentioned in my earlier post. Current theories are loose chain, maybe a loose mounting bolt on the chassis. He also said the front brake has too much play and requires bleeding. I will report on my experience once I get the bike back.

If they did remove the valve cover and use a sealant and its holding up.. let it be. But if they simply applied the paste around the valve cover (without removing it) , then at your next service get it cleaned and replaced with a new gasket plus a little paste under the gasket. A little weep isn't a big problem though.

                  Hi Sanket,

Yes Miitra ghesota is the showroom manager. Also a xbhpian. Also a good friend of mine.
But unfortunately I trusted a friend and booked from his showroom even if it was very far away from where I stay in Thane. Kanchan bajaj (KTM Kanjurmarg) was the best option for me as one of my friend bout it from them and had a smooth process. Recently Kanchan Bajaj has opened a showroom in Thane too.

Its a long story. If you need to know in detail you can always call me +91 99303260253. But i would suggest avoid them. Go for kanchan bajaj.

Kanchan Auto at Kanjurmarg took exactly 6 days from the moment my NEFT cleared in their bank account. The bike was washed clean and topped up with all fluids except fuel (which was enough to get to a pump). I went through a PDI list merged from 3 lists available on this forum and found no issues off the bat. I bought the bike from them as I had been visiting them for a couple of months and I was genuinely unaware of the Sakinaka Showroom.

After having visited and met Mohit Ahuja at KTM Andheri (M/s Ahuja Motors), I have given the bike to them to check on the issues mentioned in my earlier posts. Mohit is a biker/enthusiast himself and while I will test his and his team's competence, I felt that it is choice between buying from an established and big dealer or an involved and passionate enthusiast who happens to be the youngest motorcycle dealer in the country. Both are equidistant from Powai and I can safely recommend either at this time. Mohit's shop is listed simply as KTM Andheri and is about 500 metres on the right as you go from Sakinaka towards Asalpha and Ghatkopar.

                      Good luck.

Yes bro, I meant that only. But many here recommend using FS oil after the break in period. Is it not advisable?

Almost every Duke I have seen weeps oil. Maybe it's a gap KTM needs to address.

                          Thanks!

Congrats on the new bike bro!

70 KMs by the dealer? Didn't you ask him why so much KMs on the odo?

Yeah the bikes feels pretty rattly below 4K rpm but past 4k the party starts[emoji4]. I am old school, I don't need any odo to tell me to shift gears, just your engine out..[emoji39]

That high speed thud could be your chain too lose that is banging against your chain cover.

Do let us know your experiences. Once again.. Congrats dude!

                              Thanks a lot mate.

Like I said long story about the bike. That covers the 70km part too :P Result of Mismanagement & Miscommunication between them.

Indeed it is butter devil post 4k. But is it only me or every new bike has this issue of feeling low fuel jerk around 2-3k RPM ?
And yes, figured out today that my chain is loose. Waiting for my paddock to arrive to fix it. btw is it possible to do it while its on side stand ?

                              Once again Thanks
