Any clues about what this could be?

Thanks!
Are you referring to misfiring? Which is from exhaust. On deceleration phat phst from exhaust. Look for videos on misfiring on youtube and tell us if its the same.
Not only Great power comes with great responsibility but also with Great RISK !!! Referring to SBKs...

I couldn't really find anything on youtube to hear what it sounds like, it was mostly only about how to fix it. Anyways, I'll check and see tomorrow morning if I can find where exactly it comes from. Yo could say it sounds like as if the tires are repeatedly blowing out(thats not actually happening, just sounds like it), thats the best explanation I can give of the sound

Yes that's the misfiring you are talking about.I think it's common in 390.my friend also has it and its pretty normal.bike sounds so cool at that time

Yeah, roads aren't great, but i took it because that ride was my first proper distance on the bike and I didn't want to waste the metzelers on the arrow straight highways. Besides, i hate the NH47 sections from Cherthala to Alappuzha, its so narrow and congested with a lot of potholes.

The route via Kottayam is slightly twisty, which I like. But the roads from Kottayam to changanashery are under construction and really bad. Like, non existent. The total journey took me around 4 hours, console showed an average speed of 51 kmph. Time I lost on those roads under construction was made up on the highway section after Tiruvala. But it still is pretty low I guess. I'm taking it nice and slow on this bike.
Must ride on!

Don't worry about it. It's normal. It happens when unburnt fuel fires in the exhaust rather than in the engine. Happens when deaccelerating fast with downshifts. The fuel injection is not able to cope up with the sudden speed loss and some extra fuel is pumped in which would have been consumed at higher speeds. I presume this happen only and only for a short while and not all the time . if it happens all the time even with acceleration the you definitely have a fueling problem.

Does this misfiring happens in carburated bikes also?? Because i have seen many bikes making this sound when slowing down.. Not that they were decelarating very fast but just closed the throttle i suppose...if someone can please clear this thing...

Yes its more prominant in carburettor bikes. Just closing the throttle may not show this but shifting down at higher speeds to slow down will definitely show this character. If someone does not want it at all, then need to lean the mix. But you will loose peak power and acceleration.

Hello everyone,

Can you let me know if anyone has changed the stock suspension settings?
If yes then what is the correct way to do it and importantly will softening the suspension help during touring?

Thanks in advance.

Owner's Manual is your best bet. Check it out, read it thoroughly, you will get answers to 90% of your basic queries. The rear shock can be adjusted for preload, there are 10 notches, the stock is on 3rd notch, more you go the harder the suspension gets, helps in reducing rear squatting and useful when the bike is fully loaded.

Balgi, here you go. Why not try this, you asked for this before right?

Skanda, heating is subject to the riding conditions and individual tolerance, some are okay with the heat and some clearly diss it. For now, 2015 lot seems to be faring well, the issues getting ironed out compared to earlier lots.

Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

THE END

Thanks for the info. I might book the bike tomorrow. Bangalore (KTM Banashankari) told me that stocks are ready and can get the bike delivered tomorrow itself. I am preparing a PDI list and waiting for tomorrow eagerly

Bro there is an excellent pdi list provided by Ajay I believe.its in his signature somewhere in the duke forum.it is by far the best pdi I have ever seen.I followed it and there is nothing wrong with it.
All you need to do is follow it and make sure you strictly follow it.even if the store engineer is in a hurry to explain the basics to you just tell him to wait. s1d is it possible for you to paste the link for the excel here so that he can follow it
Thanks in advance [emoji4]

I got M.Y 2016 D390 delivered yesterday. I was supposed to get a Jan 16 model with the DRLs a week back but, the radiator had some fins smudged since i noticed it, I did not take the delivery and waited for the next lot. Sharing some pictures below. This one is Feb 2016 model with DRL's (without headlight switch). Apart from this I am unable to find any other changes, although there are so many articles which have gone viral on the internet which say that there are many other changes. I am not sure about the changes as of now, I was told by Ivin that if there will be changes then it would be in the DRL's version. Hence picked the latest one. Which one are you taking ?

Make sure to gas up and check air after the delivery asap. Also check the coolant level, look for dents in the radiator fins although it is not something to really bother about but its always better to check before buying something. Apart from this its just the regular checks which you need to do which includes tyres, forks, handlebar alignment, paint etc. All the best!!

Congrats for the beast.

Since you have purchased the Black colour, can you confirm whether the black colour is same as it was in MY2015 models or different, read it somewhere on the internet that the black colour is different in the MY2016 one's.

upload more pics of the beast.

Congrats brother, enjoy the rush.....after the run in. 😁 Nice helmet by the way. MT Axxis?

I'll be going to the showroom on Saturday for some finance issues im facing and will try to see if there are any 2016 bikes I can compare my 2015 bike with to verify any changes if you'd like. As for paint, I guess there is a very subtle differemce which most cameras cannot reproduce.

P.S I was charged ₹ 3000 in the name of accessories and couldn't do anything about it because I was not the one who took delivery. I have heard before that the KTM don't have any accessories as such and all the saree guard and stuff are included in the price. But would like someone to confirm this before I ask about that as well.
