P.S.: I wonder if stock single yellow motorcycle headlights can get any better than this. But, it definitely works as doubles in cars. Car yellow 55/60w headlights have very good illumination as per my experience.

Any idea whether this is better than Osram NB Unltd?

I have switched to rc390 grips. They are much more comfortable, the grip is good and cost around hundred bucks. Fits perfectly.

I was under the impression that the Duke received grips from the RC series during the 2015 face-lift. Am I wrong?

Guys, I just found out that the paint on my left grab rail is chipping. Should I push for a replacement or should I just leave it (The paint is gonna chip eventually anyways, right?)
          Must ride on!

Well, that's my bike and my pic.
I use the car jack when cleaning the chain and lubing it with chain spray. But now using only W90 Gear since an year.

Last week I emptied my motul lube can. So this time thought to go for some other brand.

Bought tribocor chain cleaner & chain lube.

The outcome is very foamy. Sprayed last night and I let it rest overnight. Rode to office approx 39kms. To my surprise this happened. [emoji116]

I think I over sprayed. Since it was all foamy couldn't judge. But this never happened with motul. Even if I over sprayed it never went this beserk.
IMHO, Tribocor is worst chain lube I ever used. I used it only once and never went back to it.
Not only the lube life is very less, it makes complete rear section of the bike messy. Other lube spots are easy to remove, but tribocor is difficult. It sticks to every surface except the chain.

Best one I used was "CYCLO Chain Lube". It is manufactured by Sputnik Industries for Pidilite.
It is industrial grade lube which can be used on O-Ring chains too. Cost around 160 for 120ml.

I felt is better than Motul, Yamalube, Diamond and 3M.
Now, it is difficult to find this lube. I tried to contact local dealer, but there has been no response. It used to be available at Shell Petrol Bunks. Now all Shell bunks are closed in Hyderabad.

Currently using 90W gear oil, which is very cheap, easy to clean and lasts about 250 kms every application.

Duke 2015 already has the RC390 grips afaik. You can go for other grips like Renthal, etc. I don't know much as I don't intend to go for this mod.
Another thing you can do to decrease palm & wrist pain is to go for throttle pads. But, you hv to be careful with them from what I heard.

                1. Concentrate - where you mix it with 1 or 2 parts of water depending on the application and conditions in which it is used. Eg: mak superkool af

And then there are different types of coolants (don't blindly go by color) based on their chemistry (ethylene glycol, propylene glycol etc..). so unless you have read their data sheet try not to mix different brand coolants even if they are of same color (A little wont do any harm though). the chemicals apart from providing corrosion protection do another important duty i.e. provide the 'antifreeze' property (i.e. to lower the freezing point so that it doesn't freeze up in colder climates)

yes, that's the cheapest lube without negatively affecting the chain. you could also give the chain a light spray with nulon grease spray. i do that around every 1500km.
and 90% of my lubing/cleaning is done at the svc with their used engine oil at banjara ktm. nearing 20k km and the chain kit will easily last another 10k.
what i have understood is that it is important to keep the chain lubed at specified intervals rather than using a fancy brand spray and neglecting/irregular lubing intervals.

you can get the new grips (since 2015 rc and dukes use same grips) at the svc itself.
otherwise you can use those slip on grip covers that are sold at local spares shops.cost around 40 bucks a set and available in sponge or rubber types. if will give you a thicker and softer grip..not to mention the mild reduction in vibes felt.

Yes, regular lube and regular cleaning will easily increase the chain life.
I have seen people changing sprocket set at 12000 KMS. Mine has done 35000 KMS and will be gettting it changed at Bnajara this Thursday. For first time they had something in stock in first attempt.

Also, engine oil will be changed to Xado 10w60. If time permits, i will see if they can drain the coolant completely and refill it with fresh one.
Along with changing the clutch and accelartor cables.

ha ha good luck with spares at banjara. and btw these days the waiting time for servicing is around 5 days by prior appointment.
why 10w60 ? It would be too thick at operating temp and i dont think the clearances on this engine necessitates a w60 grade
I'd say stick to the 10w50 or 20w50 motul 7100 (apparently ktm has asked them not to use even the 300v), and a dose of 'nano energizer' - i've noticed that it makes the engine sound a wee bit more refined/quieter.
they will drain and refill coolant (but not flush the radiator out with water). it hardly takes 10 min to drain and refill.

Compared to the old duke one's the new grips are very pleasant to ride with... You should checkout the old grips then you will be quite satisfied with the current one!
