Guys I am from Thane. I'll be booking my Duke 390 on January. Will I still have a 3 month waiting period?

Theoritically...No, but, having said that, I wasn't expecting this kind of service from KTM/BAJAJ, so no telling whether its going to be worse or better. Seriously, if there would have been another contender, I would have cancelled my booking a long time ago and booked that one.

[QUOTE=Abhiman;989414]@ronitgandhi24 .. I had RTR 180 without ABS and I am used to using disk brakes without ABS.. so havent checked the ABS.. nothing unusual about the brakes though..

@Abhiman :- Is the clutch of duke 390 is hyrdraulic?? I was going through a review of KTm Duke 390 by BIKE INDIA Magazine(one of India's well known Magazine) & they have mentioned it as hyrdraulic .. Pic is attached---Click image for larger version

I have confirmed this before, the clutch is not hydraulically activated. Its a simple manual setup.
Even in the pictures there is no hydraulic assembly or any oil reservoir for the oil required for the mechanism, check them. I have taken 3 test rides totalling around 50kms and thoroughly checked the bike.

Bike india guys have misprinted it, its not a big deal. I come across wrong info in magazines quite frequently.

Came to office. Heard a yell. Rushed outside saw a Duke 200 with a broken handle bar. Enquired about it and found out that.

He took a long fast sweeping right turn in a gully, missed to notice a bike on his right, tried to avoid him hit a pothole and fell. Broke his ankle, knee, nose. They took him to CMH and to Nimhans from there saying very critical head injury.

This waiting is now getting into my nerves. Bank guys are calling me every 3rd day as my loan is approved and i need to take delivery within 30 days from loan approval .

Went to KTM Lajpat Nagar just for routing inquiry about the delivery as while booking he promised me he will deliver bike in "few days" whereas i knew it wont be delivered "soon". The guy there is always forcing me to take D200.. he says things like D390 is not reliable, overheats a lot, the test bike they received got a blown up engine, not to blame him if my D390 blows up too as he has already warned me, all D390s manufactured were defective hence Bajaj has not started deliveries.

Hell.... if i wanted a D200 i would have got one when it was launched... why would i wait for D390 to be launched?

These are the things that I dont like .. but ofcourse I can easily live with these issues

                            1) Tank Capacity .. already ran into trouble at 5am, 6kms before the petrol bunk .. I got lucky to find a goods vehicle .. put the bike on it and took it there.
                            2) cleaning the bike .. it has so many intricate parts. Cleaning takes a lot of my time .. especially after it goes on wet roads..
                            3) Cost of KTM powerparts .. their denomination starts in thousands :P
                            4) Attention it receives..
                            5) No center stand .. I am used to center stands, it will take a while for me to get adjusted.
                            6) No top speed of the bike indicator like in Apache RTR
                            7) My roommate says pillion on Apache was much more comfortable than on this bike.. Of course if its 'the girl' then its a different story :P
                            8) Need to buy a handle grip, stock is thin for my liking.

I do not have issues with the engine heat. Bike starts normally and does not stall .. Very glad about it

I thought about reporting him.. but he jst wants to make as much sales as possible. These guys are paid commission according to the number of sales. As D390 is not available yet, he wants to sell D200 so he can get his commission . In this case I really miss the attitude of Vasant Vihar 'Probiking' guys, they were so positive trying to sell me Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi back in 2008 .

A "waiting for D390 delivery" mind is a devils workshop. How about this for an evil thought - Ditch the 390, buy a Duke 200 (delivery in 3 days) and an iPhone 5S
