Booked the bike on 7th of July. The showroom manager is a really nice guy. Never made false commitments. Had commited to deliver on 7th, but delivered on 4th of July. Commendable, I should say.

Tires are amazing. Was raining heavily but it felt like going on a dry road :-)
Crossed 1.5k kms.

:P

Typo. It will b 4th of Sep.

----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

@ Atul, Abhimaan and others who have got their beasts.

Have a few queries :

1. How many times did you change the oil till now. Did you change at first service only, or twice till now. I am planning to change at 400kms with motul 5100 15w50 and then at first service with motul 7100 10w50.
2. The idle seems to be flickering from 1.2 to 1.6k rpm. This is also perceptible while riding, as a jerky power delivery at lower revs. Any such issues you are facing?
3. Engine braking is substantial and can be felt easily. How about your rides?

Thanks

Abhiman...must say that's one of the best pics of D390, the rain in background...your home town Udupi, right? So i'm guessing you took the Hassan-Sakleshpur route. How did it perform? Anyways...hope you have a great time and if you are still in Udupi try taking the Mangalore-Sullia-Madikeri-Mysore-Bangalore route on the way back. You'll get some bad stretch after Sullia for around 20kms...but after that it's pure bliss...enjoy...

Yup. I took that route. But from sakleshpur to uppinangadi the road was very bad. So decided to take the kuduremukh kalasa mudigere route while returning. But even this had rough patches.

The bike is superb. Cornering is very easy :-) reached 175kmph on a plain road without wind very easily and felt it could go more. I slowed down though. I could maintain constant 130+ without difficulty on hassan bangalore road.
Btw. Did 2k kms :-)

Hehe. I didn't realize till I looked down at the speedometer. I'm very light and I removed tyre hugger, saree gaurd, pillion handle bar & hand gaurd. This helped I guess.

I was told that there is rpm limiter at 10500 rpm. I have never reached it though. The bike speed is limited by the rpm limit.

Are you saying you reached 175 on speedo without hitting the RPM limiter? I find that a little difficult to believe. Are you sure it was 175 or did you misread it?

I read it as 175 .. saw it go from 170 to 175 .. went rather quickly .. then I looked up .. saw a vehicle .. so slowed down.. I could have gone 176 or 177 maybe.. but didnt see the speedometer to check.. I was in crouched position and there was no air drag .. also .. I did not see the red light on the rpm limit indicator but did not see the rpm to check the exact rpm (That was totally out of my mind then :P )..
I hope some one else can also soon share similar experience
