Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Why was there a leakage? And also, no connection with the leak and radiator fan not working! Also why a oraginish leak or is it looking that way.. ?Originally posted by Vipin Maben View Post

Ask @rakshit rana for an in depth analysis. Lights will always be on (DRLS), no light On/Off switch, bigger bolts on the engine case and new wheel assembly and seat assembly. Although, I am to sure whether this impacts the performance in anyways. Take a test ride and decide, that would be cool!Originally posted by chakresh View Post

It can be replaced yourself in less than 5 minutes. Update with results. ThanksOriginally posted by jack_daniels View PostWas using plywood for the same. But, doesn't feel good. Thinking of buying CBR 250 Paddock Stand. Costs around Rs.3,000/-
Around Rs.650/-. I was thinking of buying in local shops but there are plenty of fakes. Finally bought from Amazon. This one's made in Germany. Original Philips product.

Yes....its just that I am planning to keep this bike for the next 4-5 years.....ND just wondering about the reliability.... And it will be difficult for to let go...as I have Waited for this bike since. It's launch and now finally I am buying it...just want to be sure....that about it. :-) I know what Bajaj and ktm have done...a really great product... Just dese issues... Just 4 days into purchasing.. Just wondering after 2 years when the warranty goes.... If just Bajaj irons dese issues out..it seriously is an awsome machine.Originally posted by judebrent View PostDon't worry too much! Hold on be cool. Patience

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Ya, it can be. Suppose the fan stops working & engine heat reaches abnormally high levels. And the Coolant expands and leaks out of the seals. It is possible.Originally posted by Vipin Maben View PostI own a 2015 slipper clutch version of Duke 390, recently while on my way to college in B2B Bangalore traffic my Bike overheated, the temperature gauge went full high, the bike stopped and it showed '' Coolant temperature high ''. To my surprise the coolant was all over the engine, waited for the bike to cool down & rode it to SVC which was nearby! they took a week to repair & finally said the radiator fan was faulty & was replaced under warranty.
Dunno. But, my bike is not giving any of these problems. I think it depends on your luck.Originally posted by kashishverma.46 View PostYes....its just that I am planning to keep this bike for the next 4-5 years.....ND just wondering about the reliability.... Replaced just now myself. Took around 20 mins. It's not cumbersome like my earlier ZMR. ZMR's screws are hard to unscrew & the recesses for opening are very tight. Actually, many of my ZMR screws had to be drilled in to open. They were that hard. Compared to that Duke 390 processes are pretty simple. Will ride tomorrow & tell the results. Going to sleep now as I'm exhausted from a 200 km trip to Tezpur, a town near Guwahati.Originally posted by judebrent View PostIt can be replaced yourself in less than 5 minutes. Update with results. No wet spots on engine or radiator. Now how should I proceed further, please lemme know.I am sure you must have not noticed the Coolant level while taking the delivery due to excitement! It could be less since the beginning. When there is no marks of it either inside or outside of the bike. Mixing with the engine oil is scary though.Originally posted by rakshit rana View PostCalled the KTM showroom Manager , will visit SVC tomorrow to top up the coolant as i didn't notice any kind of coolant spill either on radiator or engine.

But i am sure it should not happen in a brand new bike.
Your half of the touring will happen while riding to the SVC.. lol.
It depends on what are you coming from. If incase its a Honda or a Yamaha then definitely you will need some time to adjust. When i bought my P220 (it was the first batch) and hence it was filled with all the niggles but its been more than 6.5 years and its up and kicking at 60K Kms on ODO. *Touchwood* For many people Bajaj quality is sub standard.. even i agree to some extent but it all boils down to the rider and how he maintains it. There are so many xBhpians who bought with me and most of them are still using it without any trouble. I feel P220 is one of the best bike when it comes to Indian conditions for commuting and touring. It took me to so many places including the Mecca for the Bikers and never ever left me stranded. So i think i dint go wrong in purchasing one. Similar should be the ownership of D390 for many others.Originally posted by kashishverma.46 View PostYes....its just that I am planning to keep this bike for the next 4-5 years.....ND just wondering about the reliability.... So, if you like the D390 then go for it as I don't think after buying this, anyone will regret. Although, be prepared to visit the svc initially more number of times as compared to other Yammy/Honda riders. None of the bike is perfect and each and every bike has its pros and cons. Every bike needs maintenance at the end of the day.
If you are really concerned about the reliability then you can go for CBR 250 (ABS) eyes closed if you don't mind the old looks, as it will comparatively be less prone to smaller niggles. Think and choose wisely as per requirements. But its mostly heart over mind.
