Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Don't run that much distance it can damage fuel pump, ideally you should not go beyond 35-40 kms on reserve. KTM's fuel gauge is not accurate especially reserve part.Originally posted by jack_daniels View Post

I did unavoidable 50kms on rc after hitting reserve.Originally posted by jack_daniels View PostHow much km can the Duke do in reserve? I personally hv done around 70 kms on ZERO bars and when I go for fuel fillup (full tank), still 1.5-2 ltrs are leftover.!
Its scary as there are fuel pump failures reported due to running with low fuel.

Yes, one shouldn't run on reserve unless it's a sheer emergency!Originally posted by bikersdream View PostI did unavoidable 50kms on rc after hitting reserve.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Yes, after 0 bars there are 2.5 litres, however, fuel pumps should have 3-4 litres. There's enough evidence out there of them konking. Tell me why would you want to clock miles on reserve!Originally posted by jack_daniels View PostI don't think my fuel pump will be damaged in any way since till now for full tank, I haven't filled more than 8.7 ltrs of fuel. Which means even after riding 60-70 kms on ZERO bars there is around 2.3 ltrs of fuel left in the tank.

The pics highly unclear, but still, reserve is to just get to the pump, not to clock max KMS on!

That's what my point is, regarding pic if you want a clear pic I can mail it, it was because of faulty fuel gauge. SVC guys changed it under warranty.Originally posted by judebrent View PostThe pics highly unclear, but still, reserve is to just get to the pump, not to clock max KMS on!

WhatsApp Group - Duke 390
For emergencies/chat and quicker support, I was thinking of making an XBHP group on whatsapp if the rules here permit. If I can and y'all would like to also be connected on whatsapp, inbox me your numbers and I will start with the group right away. Admin, if this isn't permitted, I will delete the post. Thanks, Jude

Yes, it was readily available and was changed within few hours. Problem was improper reading in reserve condition like enough fuel was there but MID showed reserve.Originally posted by judebrent View PostWas it readily available and how long did it take? Yeah it does have those 4 changes.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostThis pic I took off mumbiker nikhil 's page, he said there are 4 visual changes.
1.Saree guard looks more like the new Honda hornet 160's guard.
2.The exhaust is all new looks more like a aftermarket unit and sounds different.
3. The underbelly has been change too for the new exhaust.
4. The tail was different one of them had CBR'ish tail. The number plate holder and the mud guard looked fat and big.
5. The rvms had different design.
6. The Front Disk seemed larger than the old one. ( could be wrong on this )
7. About the lights i couldn't notice any differences. [emoji29]

Thanks Man, I got 10W60. Realised it later.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostGood update. One word of caution would be, the oil grade you're about to use, especially the XADO. Whatever oil you use, make sure you don't downgrade the temperature rating, which is 20w50 or 15w50. You can decrease the number before W say 10w50 15w50 and the like, but it's wise not to go lesser on the number after W which indicates the oil's temperature/viscosity bearing capacity.
Just a word of caution.
Cheers!

Of 35000 KMs on my 390. I think around 5000 on highways rest all in city. My daily commute is around 56kms.Originally posted by bikersdream View Poststock metz, stock break pads, stock chain set lasted for around 30k, That's really great.
How you drive man?
Stock Metz is something even I am surprised of.
Chain set has been regularly maintained.
Brake Pads, probably using engine braking a lot.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme
