it was the dashboard reading but when I calculate 800rs for about 350kms .. it gives roughly 35kmpl as well..(reserve indicator to reserve indicator)

4.Once I stood when i was going on a hump and the bike wobbled, this I had never experienced on Apache. When I sat again, bike came back to normal.
5.Need to get used to the small tank.
6.The bike does get hot!! I was told during the delivery by the mechanic specifically that it is normal. The engine temp indicator did not reach the red line though..
Shoot away any question regarding the bike and I will answer my best from my perspective..
Can you explain 3 in detail, please? Do you mean that we should not accelerate suddenly?

Wobbled as in a slip type of wobble or something else? Glad you are okay.

It got hot during highway cruising speeds or in traffic? Enjoy the ride, bro. Or yenjaay maadi as you might say in B'lore ;-)

third point I mean.. when I went straight through small potholes I expected a gentle push from the seat and expected a cushioning effect like my Apache.. but I instead got a sharp jerk from the suspension. Later when for similar potholes I went at lower speed it was a very comfortable experience. There is absolutely nothing wrong with acceleration Probably I need to get used to these suspensions..
Wobbled I mean .. the handle shook .. front tyre went left right .. was not in my control .. this happened when I stood up while going over a rough patch on the road at around 90kmph .. when I sat back everything came back to normal.. the amplitude of the wobble was not high .. glad i am safe..
cruising speeds it gets hot.. but I didnt feel it then .. whenever I stopped could feel the heat though ..

Did you check the tyre pressure? Always check the tyre pressure when the tyres are cool.

I guess you experienced mild 'tank-slapper' effect [Lot of videos available in youtube.]. To counter that effect, people use 'Steering Damper'

Glad to know that you are safe. If you don't have a steering damper, there is nothing much that can be done to recover from a tank-slapper [It may correct itself or you can brake hard on the front to break the slapper effect which may work as mentioned in few other blogs - I don't have this experience. So I cannot say for sure.]

When I joined xbhp, this was one of my first query [regarding steering dampers availability in Bangalore and it's first hand experience by users] in this forum and I think that query never got answered.

It is one of the important safety mod that people carry out...

I think braking the front will only make it worse. Rather, the theory is to put pressure on the front wheel and relax your grip on the handlebar to cure it, and to pump the brakes after the tankslapper.

And yes, a steering damper is a sound investment.

True, braking front will worsen it and possible lead to locking brakes and fall. Best thing is to dont put weight on handle and it will set itself.

As I said earlier, as far as people who have eperienced it, there is no true skilled way to come out of a tank slapper.

Some people in other blogs have mentioned that braking the front wheel [controversial suggestion] or accelerating more will sometimes break the slapping effect.

One interesting discussion - Tank slapper explained ! - Triumph Forum: Triumph Rat Motorcycle Forums

But, as I mentioned in my post, please let me know if any after market steering damper is available in Bangalore. I would like to add it to my D390...

I have booked my bike from Delhi. When I inquired about the delivery dates here, the dealer told me that till now the dates have not been shared with dealers (at least in Delhi) and that they have been assured by KTM representatives that they will get the bikes by September end. Having said that he could not confirm whether the deliveries would absolutely start by September end.

Has anyone in Delhi got delivery of their bikes, or at least have some better knowledge about the delivery dates?

I asked Lajpat nagar, cp and noida ktm showrooms all of them gave the same answer "till now there is no such confirmation but we r trying to deliver the bikes as soon as possible"
Although I have seen one 390 in the xbhp anniversary pics.

2 bikes were up for delivery.

I too booked on 26th June but my booking # is 9. Hope mine gets delivered by next 2 weeks (Fingers crossed)

For me they said OTR is 2.13lks. When you are saying 24k for permanent registration, so do we need to pay extra 24k with OTR price?

I think you are the first to get the beast in Bangalore... post some nice pics... also let us know the points to keep in mind before taking the delivery of the bike.

                              Happy Ride..

Otr is on road price including permanent registration. He did not take the permanent registration because he wanted to get his bike registered elsewhere. In short no 24k over otr, relax.
