Today, one r15 guy thought that it was a duke 200 because he was coming from behind. I was doing a 60-70kmph. This was repeated thrice and his ffe was bothering me by now.
I just gave it all the throttle in the 4th cog, he was about to pass me again but I just rocketed past him. The look on his face. Priceless!!

Yes, 390s use narrow band sensors, so the ECU will not be able to compensate for the engine running lean. So you'll need to remap the ECU as well along with the K&N, if I'm not mistaken.Originally posted by KaushikN View PostSenotrius, there was someone in Mumbai who installed a K&N air filter whose engine seized. Something to do with the engine running lean. I wouldn't be able to explain the details to you, so I suggest you take the inputs of someone more experienced.Ride more, browse less.

junaid12345678 and krish2778 thanks for the advice.maybe its just me but I felt the engine oil glass port had a green tinge to it at pdi/delivery time.I can't be sure as the bike is now at asc.hopefully that's not the case.I still think it has something to with the fan not coming on in time or leakage somewhere.god,I do not want it to be the worse case scenario requiring engine disassembly.
will update when the bike is back.๔ยкє ҭђгєє ภเภєҭұ เภ ๓ұ שєเภร

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
The minimum I managed is 17kmpl and the max around 27kmpl. I calculate from a tankful to tankful and don't rely much on the mid. The avg you would get in a busy city ride should be between 22-25kmpl.Originally posted by Raja Gopal View PostCan someone tell me whats the minimum to average mileage we get in this bike ?
My parents are okay to get me any bike upto 2 L
But I do ride my streets regularly and at least 30-35 is what I expect in city ride ...
Also let me know the mileage in highways (:
Thanks in advance friends

Howsoever heavy the traffic is the high coolant temp should not be shown if you are not constantly ripping the guts out of the bike. Get it checked.Originally posted by Riken View PostBrothers, Need some tips for riding the bike in heavy bumper to bumper traffic. Any good advice about throttling that will avoid "High lubricant oil temperature warning"? I keep making the warning sign light up. Please help.
Most probably the radiator fan is not working. Did you check if there is any coolant in the reservoir?

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
I am looking to book Duke 390 pretty soon in Pune. There are 2 KTM dealers in Pune. 1) At Bund Garden Road 2) At Wakhadewadi.
Any suggestion as to which dealership to go ahead with ? Any good/bad experience buying duke from either of dealerships ?

thanks a lot the information is very useful.Originally posted by psr View PostWould request owners not to run the KTM 390 petrol level to less than 1.5~2 liters since the fuel pump is vertical and needs the petrol to pump and for cooling purpose.
Here is a picture of the Fuel Pump's position inside the Petrol tank....

Wakewadi... I got mine on 9th Oct... no issues with the delivery
They have also opened a service center exclusively for KTM and Kawasaki down the same road...
Got my first service done and the mechs seem to know what they were doing.

yesterday i had been to tvm in car for battery change. got it changed. As soon as i returned i jumped out of car and i tried to fix up the battery.
guys please be careful about the nut in the battery terminal. if it gets into vertical position it gets damn tough to bring it back. it took sometime for that and i fired up engine.... in just 1 click . no throttle.
but later, i found out engine fires even better if i give 2mm throttle too. SM told about you over phone. i got all papers except finance. SM has agreed to attend properly when i visit for service.
BTW some very important information from KTM showroom guy. a newbie there and calls a stuntman himself.
1. D 390 got the biggest carburetor.
2. the starting issue is due to petrol pumping and some problem with air/ air intake.
3. always give accelerator in an ample amount for starting.
4. i do proper pdi, i check abs properly on streets before delivery.
5. when asked about no first aid kit in bike, he said, KTM has changed its policy. You see no one uses it, so company thinks its loss to provide and customers must buy themselves.
I had to run to my car after these. anyway had a hearty laugh.I'm a responsible rider. It doesn't matter what you ride, but what matters is how you ride.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Duke 390 doesnt have a carburetor. I dont know how these mechs will solve the issues in the bike. And its not KTM's decision to give first aid kit with the bike. Its Govt. Of India's decision. KTM or Bajaj cannot change it. Just ask for it and get it. Its your right.Originally posted by Legend Racer View Post@krish2778 you did not update the safety gear price. please...
