Chill man! It shows anything. Don't worry much. It has shown me a 25 kmpl after hitting reserve and then even after the next 25kms it was still at 25.

At the back of my head I have a 40 kms max after reserve, that too only if I am not able to find a bunk. Less fuel may damage the fuel pump so always try to be above reserve.

btw get that khat-khat sound checked I had same problem and yet to sort it out on 1st servicing due in few days ! I had tightened my chain at svc, the noise still persists!
Thank you @rick_7428...
For the sound I am yet to ascertain if is it surely the chain hitting the swing-arm or something else. Or am I getting fussy because of the novelty factor

I am wondering what is the 'reserve' capacity of this bike? This morning on my way to office I got 'Low Fuel Level' message. Rode for ~5kms and filled in at Shell. I asked the pump attendant to fill for Rs.700 but by the time she filled 8.16L fuel spilled out Thought I wiped it gently with the cotton rag, hope it doesn't damage the paint/clear coat.

Total tank capacity is 11L and it takes about 8L after hitting reserve, so I am thinking 2.5-3L reserve capacity? Holding the bike upright could have helped to fill some more

Forget highways, its going to be a pain refueling the bike in cities too!
Thank you @NitinGirish
I bought it from Sandhya Spares and accessories next to J.C.Road signal take right from SBI ATM. Its also known hugely as authorized shop for Bullet spares.MRP is 443 and I got it for 350...
I filled around 550 rs petrol from Shell just after hitting reserve while coming back from delivery.

In 390 manual i see reserved capacity as 1.5l (digital ktm 390 manual which i downloaded from this thread itself)...will check in our indian manual.
I see in manual and site chain is said to be X ring but mechanic at svc told me that its O ring....is it that eurpean model and indian models get different type of chain ?

Learn to live with it, no matter how tight your chain is, a little chain slapping noise would be there. It would be worse on bad patches of tarmac. On good roads its not much of a bother.

I guess it has got a little better for me as I have clocked more than 1k kms now. But this chain noise issue is by design I suppose, almost all dukes suffer from this.

Thanks bro... I just got the chain checked ,tightened and lubed by OKS spray . Saw the whole process myself so that I can DIY . Also removed the sari guard aka chicken griller and the mud guard aka mud splasher.
I am on my third day and have covered 120 kms - will need to check after 1K kms.

actually,that does seem a lil practical.chicken griller.
maybe the rear mudguard has some practical use as well seeing its not very functional.

I am told in the other Bhp forum that the mud guard actually deflects lot of muck unintentionally toward the pillion.

Yeah I know.. Who would have imagined it would happen with KTM (Bajaj - can imagine it ). I got the bike from KTM Adyar (Chennai) 2nd lot. But Once the issue was communicated to the top official, they were pretty responsive. Two KTM Service centres in chennai worked together on the issue for day and nights.

First time it happened at 1900 kms when I was traveling around 100 kmph, the engine turned off suddenly and the MIL warning indicator lamp had lit up. I had done an oil change and filter change at 500 kms and 1st service at 1000 kms. Gave it to another KTM SC as it was near my home. The SC guys had replaced the lock on the cam bolt (You can see it when you are looking at your left side of the bike on the cam head assembly) , changed the bent exhaust valve and certain smaller items which i don't know the technical names.

I met with the KTM India representative from Pune who visited chennai for some training (If you put up a complaint in ktm india page, this is the guy who receives it, I think he is KTM India in-charge for customer related queries, a very good guy). He had asked the KTM Chennai (2 stores) guys to handle my case with utmost attention and care). The bike was made ready infront of him. I took the bike after repairing by taking a ride of only 10-15 kms, which I should not have done. After taking the delivery next day again the engine had turned off on me while i was riding around 50 kmph. I had put up my 2nd complaint on the website. By that time KTM SC guys including the General Managers of 2 ktm stores were already working on my engine cam head assembly which they had rectified (as they claimed) but it seems the KTM india rep from pune had asked later on to change the entire cam head assembly. They tested the bike by taking rides for more than 100 kms both in city and highway condition. Both the KTM dealers were very supportive even though it took time for the delivery.

As per their instructions I have ridden the bike within 80-90 kms till 500-600 kms. Now I am at 3250 kms. Just yesterday I touched 169 kmph at NH5. The sound of the duke is really bassy now, I love the new sound It has got little bit harder compared to the 1st service.
Falling in love with the "lil beast" over and over again. Sorry Baby :D

Must say that was an Happy ending for you and your baby . Glad the officials took it upon themselves to rectify and resolve. On the contrary though would it been possible for an entire Engine replacement or even better the bike itself?. What could be the best case scenario for an exchange and worst case.

So I have started my tyre pressure experiments. the online manual and service book say differently. anyway i started with 29 psi in front and 32 psi in rear. i feel it is a bit bouncy on bad patches. everything else okay.

BTW another thing...
My bike had starting issues, got another battery and was okay. But now the bike wont start if it stalls down by itself or stops abruptly. It wont start properly in gears.
I have to come to neutral, wait for sometime and start from 1st. DukeDey

I put Szr windscreen(110 Rs ).. shakes a bit.. but still to tighten it with the allen key after removing the numberplate.. waiting to go on a longish ride to check and full review..
definitely helping in 130+ when my helmet used to try to take my head away..

If you face this problem, simple hit the engine kill switch and switch back after a second or so..
The fuel pump check happens and it will start at a single go..

Reason - The fuel pump aint smart enough...

It is the same way in every other duke. When the engine stalls, I switch off the ignition and then restart it. It comes to life as usual.

Are you implying that if the bike stalls, then the only way to turn it on is to use the kill switch? If this is the case then I have to say that my bikes starts immediately by engaging clutch in any gear.
