Has anyone found a solution to the sound, that comes when going over potholes?
I've tightened my chain to correct slackness, and do not have a saree guard or hugger installed. I wondering it's got anything to do with the suspension preload. I'm currently at 4.

Took the baby on nice road today - then started her some 20 minutes later and found that there is too much of vibration noise - there is no bass sound from the engine and it feels like everything inside the engine is running around loose have to take her to svc on Monday as Sunday everything will be closed

anyone filled 'castrol power one racing' in 390?? It has same grade '10W50 JASOMA 2'. I am planning to fill it for first service oil change as Motul 7100 10w50 is out of stock here in kolhapur service center from 2 weeks. Please give me suggestions if any.

So my question is, should I make a issue out of it or is it OK and won't effect the engine.
              "OK sorted it out".

my starting trouble is in new dimension now.

confirmed it today. whenever i fill it tank full, the bike wont start. it needs a lot of cranking and trial and error to start. i fill just half near to brim, where we can see petrol easily.

My 390 is 815kms old now (I get to ride it only once a week).

The bike has started popping powerwheelies now, cruises at 60kmph in 6th cog without issue and can crawl in 2nd gear now and as I am opening it hard now, it keeps up with any stock 600 without much workout.

However, the chain has got loose already! It has slack similar to a 10,000kms old chain set! Chain is so noisy now that it gets irritating and Front disk is noisy like drum brake I hope everything gets fixed in service.

As said, forks need to be removed to install them. But if they are cheap, you can cut them on one side and cover the seal area and stick it back with some adhesive. Saves the labour charges.

Reached there a good hour early. Thoughthey claim they start at 8:30AM it was not before 9AM that staff started totrickle in.
My bike wasinitially queued for washing even before job card was done. A small boy did thewashing with pressure water. Later I found out that the water had seeped inunder the seat! Once washing was done, the Service Advisor Mr. Raju, wrote thejob card. He undertook following tasks:-
                            ChangingEngine Oil.
                            Changing OilFilter
                            Cleaning AirFilter box
                            Settingclutch play.
He did notconnect the OBD scanner, didn’t check the battery with multimeter, didn’t doany of the other checks that is listed out in the service coupon. Water from washing had seeped in under theseat. When I pointed out to him, he saidit is not a problem and will dry once I start riding! I didn’t see much sensein having water droplets around wiring and particularly on a bike with so manysensors. So I borrowed his rag and wiped it myself.
They appliedpolish so well that I could not see anything in the mirror and had to call theboy back to wipe it again. For this extra ordinary service they charged meRs.49. Total bill was for Rs.1522 including Rs.55 charged for consumables. As a complimentary gift I got a prominentswirl mark on my mudguard.

In short , Isee nothing special about this service center. The service advisor had presumedthat everything will be alright since the bike is new and didn’t even bother toask me if I had any problems/issues in my bike. By the way, they too didn’thave the mud flap screw. I won’t bothermyself riding across the city for this experience. Will try the Mekhri circleoutlet next time .
Oh Boy !!! And we were singing ballads for this and specially me had high hopes since its the nearest (along with BTM), now I have my apprehensions.

Completely agree and echo your feelings. Hope it stays this way...

Yesterday did a quick dash to Mandya CCD and back as part of my run-in and I was super impressed. I took it easy and shifted gears whenever the red-light flashed (i.e. @5000 rpm).
Have no qualms in the decision made (touch wood).

I am basically a defensive rider and like to see the world pass-by than hastening it up. But hold on this was only a feeling till I saw my MID. I just touched 120kmph once @6th, frankly didn't realize it and there was no traffic on that stretch. Also I was in full gears from head to toe barring a riding pant.
One observation - The RPM1 warning doesn't come up in 6th gear - Is it deliberate? or did I miss something in manual.

I feel it just loves the highways and smoothens its heartbeat while its anygry in city traffic.
The ABS is really a boon (the greatest reason I bought this), even-tough we could have gone till Ninja 300. I had a situation when I was @~90kmph and suddenly a hump appeared from nowhere(typical Mysore Road) and I was at controllable speeds in no time. Five stars on the Breaks,Tyre & ABS combination - they complement each other very well and you will know when ABS kick-in.

The only real drawback of this machine is the limited range if I must say . I tanked in shell while starting and tanked again while coming back.

As of now I am following just one thumb-rule for run-in, listen to the engine.

Lastly I decided on a name for my Duke - Mastiff (my first pet).
