Is it good to use from the 1st service itself? Have you noticed any leakage or any other issues? Thanks
They changed my engine oil to Motul 300v during first service as they did not have any 7100. Didn't face any problem. During 2nd service they changed to 7100 and I could see the difference right away. The gear shifts were hard engine was rough and revs were not smooth.

Changed to 300v today, during 3rd service!

Also leaks are not caused beacuse of the engine oil. The O-ring filter must have been busted if there's a leak.
    Honda Dio (Sold) | Yamaha FZ16 (Sold) | Duke 390 | Kawasaki Z800 (Technically it's my brother's, but WTH ;P) |

    1. Start the engine; 2. Turn the trottle; 3. Disappear ;)

Was thinking of using the 300v from the 1st service myself as well. Thanks for the review.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle!

I've been having battery issues since last week..
It all started when the bike won't start and make trrr trrr noise from near the battery and Displayed an error code(J10_99 something like that) on the center console and the console went blank.
Had to push the bike to the SVC for almost 4Kms.(Didn't know how to push start a bike then). The SVC manager said some issue with the battery and that I can use it by push starting it for a while and it will be replaced since it is in warranty after a day or two. Used it by push starting it for a couple of days thinking that it was just a minor glitch and it will go away by itself. Yesterday while coming from office it wont start at all(push start was also not working then).
Inquired about a tempo and found out it would cost some 2000 bucks....
Called up the SVC manager and he sent a KTM mechanic to my office(20KM far) with a spare battery.
Switched the battery and all was fine.
Was really starting to hate the bike after almost 20Kms of pushing the bike around within the last week.(Must have lost some weight for sure..:P)
Waiting for the replacement battery now and she is just sitting in the parking till then..
Has anyone had such a problem with the battery?
(FYI:My Duke 200 is just some 9 months old around 9000KMs done.)
Sorry for posting it in the 390 thread but I guess Both the bikes should have the same battery.

FI bikes need the battery to be working to push start the bike, because it needs the minimum power to operate the fuel pump, if even that much of power is not there, the bike won't start, no matter which method you try to do.
More over it is not advised to push start FI bike.

It was a bad decision to use the bike in that condition, you should have asked for a replacement then and there itself, and not left until you got it.

            Cheers

The duke has a run in which requires you to keep the bike under 7.5k rpm.

What is frustrating on riding between 5-7.5k ?? it is very exciting actually, don't tell me you are keeping it restricted to 60kmph or things like that.

                    Cheers

guys i need to top up my front brake fluid, as i cant able to see any thing over min max mark. by default what brake fluid comes with 390 is it dot 4 or 5.1. as both are recommended in manual book.

                      Cheers

Have you felt the brakes to be fading or being spongy ? I think the fluid is colorless so, maybe you are feeling that the fluid is not there ?

I know I shouldn't have push started the bike that many times but the SVC manager said it would be alright to use it for a couple of days...

Naturally , they will say that to get you off their back and deal with it without any hurry, but it is not good for the bike, if the number of push starts has been less, no real damage will occour, it is not good in the long run doing this practice, i would strongly advise against doing it again.

Another update to guys who has stalling issues while engaging the clutch. This is caused because of the Spark Plug.

I had this problem for the last two weeks, and yesterday during 3rd service they cleaned the spark plug. Voila, no stalling issues till now.

An immediate and temporary solution to ride with this issue is to rev slightly while closing the trottle. Hope this helps..
