Yes, finally I succumbed to temptations of Duke 390.

I will be going tomorrow to book the bike and also take delivery. Mr. Negi of Vashi KTM is a nice man. He just asked to get the documents and he will keep the bike ready.

      Its a black 390.

Not sure if you've got it yet but I'd keep bugging them. I called them on the DAY (3rd April) they promised it to me and they sheepishly said "yes". So I think it's a matter of how much you can bug them.

I had originally booked a black but they said the ones that arrived were damaged. I opted for a white since the colour REALLY didn't matter so me since all you had to do was change the tank and headlamp cowling.

          Hope you;ve got it now

          Congrats! Welcome aboard..

Pity they don't make red ones since as we all know, red ones go faster.

Tell him not to use very wet cloth(too much water as they normally do) specially on the seat and headlamp as there are electrical beneath them, tell him to use damp cloth only. Also tell him not to clean disc plate better to show him also.

No sprinkling or 'water jet' as my security guard (who washes it) calls it. This is harmful for paint and the force of water unintentionally reaches places which are prone to rust.
No human shampoos - they are detergent based which are harmful for paints (Car & bike shampoos are there for a reason)
Best is to use a mop-cloth which is not rough (scoth brite has one - please note not the normal scoth brite)

Btw, to improve pillion experience on 390, one can hold the waist adjusters of your riding jacket instead of grab rails. This will be much better for pillion and he can easily manage should you whack the throttle!

I take my dad as pillion daily for 12kms on peak Blore traffic and this was the best solution I found till date. Holding the rear grab rails was not much of a use.
handguards come in pair for 700.
I might have a right hand lying around as i broke left one for similar reason. will check.

The SVC confirmed that the hand guards come in pair. Please let me know if you have the right one.

Also guys, I'd recommend you to use the Motul 300v 15W50 engine oil. The 7100 is nothing but crap. Today I changed to the 300v during 3rd service. The bike feels really refined, revs better and really stress free at higher RPM band. Compared to 300v when using the 7100, the bike felt like a tractor. :P

Did they have the 300v at the SVC or did you buy it from somewhere else?

Has anyone else used this too?

                        Thanks

Most of us from Hyderabad use 300v as well. Engine is much smoother.

Bought it else where.. It's not available in the service station.

Is it good to use from the 1st service itself? Have you noticed any leakage or any other issues? Thanks

I've got mixed responses for same question. Some people suggested sticking to mineral till 2nd service and some advised 300v. Had planned a long tour after first service, so I moved to 300v.

Unfortunately my bike's rims are busted in return leg of the journey and is still at service station, so can't really comment about leaks etc.
