Hardly 5% performance improvement and mostly at the top end. Is it worth it for 15K?Originally posted by Rohit.nagamalla View PostHe guys check this out.... remaps for Duke 390

They say the city rideability (low end) performance improves, but if you ask me, of course its not worth itOriginally posted by timuseravan View PostHardly 5% performance improvement and mostly at the top end. Is it worth it for 15K?
That too at the risk of voiding warranty when we know that 390 is very much in need of warranty

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
IMO A bike like the duke 390 @ stock is already very close to its limits on the amount of power that can be extracted from the engine. In such a scenario an additional 5% may still be seen as a huge gain by some. To get the max out of this device, you should also probably consider the addition of a filter like the K&N or BMC and a calculated free flow exhaust. The device can be remapped to incorporate these changes again improve performance further.Originally posted by timuseravan View PostHardly 5% performance improvement and mostly at the top end. Like Adarsh_bk mentioned The company claim is that it improves rideability all through the rev range. User experiences are also similar across various forums. In addition, it also programs the radiator fan to start faster than stock settings ensureing that the bike is kept cooler apparently.
They also seem to have a very active and helpful customer support team incase ur planning to invest. Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle!

Sorry for the naive question - But how will someone find it if I disconnect the box and reconnect stock? ECU check???Originally posted by Adarsh_Bk View PostThey say the city rideability (low end) performance improves, but if you ask me, of course its not worth it

This seems interesting and the fan cooling up faster will make a lot of people go for it.Originally posted by The Pain View PostLike Adarsh_bk mentioned The company claim is that it improves rideability all through the rev range. You could have go them from Race Control room at the end of day. I think they provided a list to some people who had asked for it.Originally posted by SDS17 View Post
I don't know if you can get it now. Contact Amit Ahuja and ask him about it. He should have lap timings of everyone.

I guess if the Powertronic is unplugged, one cant find out if the ECU was modified or not. Since it is a piggyback ECU, all it does is trick the ECU into doing what it wants to
But Kirrus remaps the existing ECU which the SVC will know the moment they test diagnostics. But you may still hope that they believe it somehow got corrupted without your knowledge
Yeah the fan turning on earlier is a good feature and its good if they can sort out the low rpm jerks etc but the bigger question still remains, why Bajaj/Bosch hasnt done anything to improve low end rideability? There should be a good reason for it though.
And I have had my fair share of hotrodding on my earlier bike and I can tell you that not everything is as attractive as it appears to be

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
I'm assuming this is where people announce their new acquisitions? (if it's not, move me to the appropriate thread)
If it is, then I've just paid the final amount on my Black Duke 390 and hope to get it either tomorrow (wed 02 April) evening or Thursday. It just great timing that Monday was a public holiday and I have to wait a day extra. Got it from Indranagar KTM in Bangalore and am looking to do justice to my mid-life crisis. While I've only been riding for about 5 months, I'm going to miss my horribly underpowered Pulsar 135LS. You never forget your first bike :-)
Being an anime fan I was going to name it something manly like the ARX-7 ARBALEST but the wife got to it first and called her "Sheila the Prostitute". Having posted it on facebook, it's now set in stone :-(
I've watched every review of the 390 over and over again in anticipation of picking it up. I'm SO not getting any sleep tonight.

Yeah i often wonder this myself. Especially when people make recommendations on oils or similar things that are better than company recommended ones. Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle!

Congrats, by the way, just out of curiosity, why did your wife name it as such? I mean what did you intend to do with it?Originally posted by sdfonechan View PostI'm assuming this is where people announce their new acquisitions? (if it's not, move me to the appropriate thread)

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Well.. At the risk of the moderator's wrath, my wife's alluding to the fact that I'm going to be riding "Shiela" hard over the next few days if not years. Prostitution comes into play as my neighbors (who also happen to be bikers) are lining up to test ride her already. Coming from Australia, Sheila (or to use the more vernacular "Shazza") is the closest any one can get to "Bhabi Ji" :-)Originally posted by AmitRavi07 View PostCongrats, by the way, just out of curiosity, why did your wife name it as such? I guess this means I should call my Pulsar 135, "Auntie" ... My wife is strange.
