Folks,

Due to an emergency I have to relocate. I cannot take my bike with me . Don't want her stranded for a long time as well and hence planning to sell urgently. I am still paying the EMI which would be over by December. Can you guys let me know what needs to be done?

Bought on Noov 9 2013. The third service free service is yet to be done.

TIA...

The bank you took the loan should be able to answer your question.

You may find very few buyers if you tell them that there is some outstanding amount in the loan.
If your buyer is more skeptical, but still accommodating, you can go to the bank together -- assuming your lender has branches in your area and work on getting the loan transferred
For mental health..

Why transfer the loan? Use the money paid by the buyer to pay off the bank and transfer the papers to the buyer. Ideally, dont tell the buyer you have a loan against the bike as it will lead to more bargaining.
Regardless, Life shall go on.

BaibhavMishra : A few people have already been to leh on the 390 and I guess you can do any trip with the stock bike but a few changes do make it more comfortable and enjoyable.
I have done a couple of 1500 km rides in this month. One to jalori pass and one to Munsiyari and now I am headed to spiti this week.
The changes that I have done are :
1. One and a half inch of foam was added to the seat.
2. Installed Cbr250r windshield.
3. I changed the tyres after the jalori pass trip as stock tyres don't perform so good in offroad conditions. So now I have the Ceat Vertigo sport at the rear and michelin pilot sporty at the front. Performed really well during the munsiyari ride, only problem being leaning ability is now reduced.
4. For luggage I am using the Viatera claw and Rynox optimus s. The tank bag is mainly used to carry my cameras and it easily fits A nikon D7100 and a nikon D610 with battery grips attached and a 24-70 2.8, 10-20, and 70-300. Thats a lot of gear and I have not a had a single scratch on these products till now. The tank bag works like a charm. The claw on the other hand is pretty good too, fits in a lot of stuff but no matter what it keeps moving and shifting to the sides. Not enough to disbalance the bike but enough to irritate you at times.
5. For the spiti trip I am getting a metal sump guard installed along with a luggage rack to carry the claw along with two 10 litre cans of fuel.
Thanks a lot for your feedback. Any means to contact you? BBM or whats app or anything ?

Guys, My Duke 390 is almost 5 months old now. But, it has completed close to 1500 KMs only.

Should it take it to Service Centre for 2nd Service or wait to add more KMs to odo ? 2nd Service is at 150 Days / 6000 KMs. I am way behind in KMs.

Take it to svc for the second service, or else they could cancel your warranty.

Technically there should be no problem if you complete 6000 km before second service. It does not make sense to service just after 500km after first service. Frankly I feel that the time durations are just to get more servicings done and make money for the SVC.

I got my second service done about one month after the 150 days. The SVC used my 3rd free service coupon instead of 2nd. And that was it.
BTW this was SNK SVC at wakdewadi.

Are you sure? I also serviced after the 150 days and it was no problem re warranty.

Yes, in case of a warranty claim, the svc could technically decline by stating that you bypassed your second service. The services coupons(both free and paid) are mandatory to be used in the time-frame or within the kms specified.

There is a column on the service coupon in the booklet which has tick mark for "Warranty Continued". (Or something like that) Just ensured that it is ticked by the SVC.

Hello Riders,

I got Delivery of my Duke 390 on 1st June from Marathahalli KTM . Upgrading from Pulsar 180 classic ,This bike feels nothing but WONDERFUL every time i ride it.Though i am a strong believer of "City Roads are not for racing", this bike completely negates the same...!!!
My part of story till now.. On the day of delivery as soon as i started riding from the showroom, the message pops up on that awesome orange display ... "Low oil pressure"..called the showroom guy who told me to not to ride the bike and bring it to showroom the next day as 1st was sunday and service centre was closed.Next day, he took my bike to Kasturba road KTM and informed me it as a faulty "oil pressure sensor" .It was replaced and the message never appeared again.
This Tuesday, at ~800 kms i went to kasturba road KTM to get the first servicing done with no issues in mind to report as such. It was supposed to be a normal servicing only till i came to know about "oil seepage" from engine and needed some replacement in gasket. Disheartened, i agreed to get it done without any fuss as they told this is quite normal with duke 390 as the compression ratio is too high.
I collected my bike on wednesday and had a chat with service centre's supervisor (Ravi) to make sure everything is done and the oil seepage problem is resolved . As i started riding again,Bike felt completely different and the pickup was just amazing though i noticed very strong smell of petrol from right side whenever i stopped at traffic signal. considering it may be because of the replacement work/Polishing...i continued to ride and parked the bike at office parking with triangle+2 bar fuel level.
The best part: At around 9 PM i started from my office with triangle+single bar fuel level.just after 100 meters, bike started displaying low fuel level and calculated 21 kms till fuel gets over.just a few 100 meters and the distance dropped to 15km...and then kept on decreasing.Till i reached home ...~5 KMS from my office...i was shocked to see 0 Kms to go on display and bike just died as soon as i reached my place.there was a strong smell of petrol again and on inspection i found petrol dripping from the bike. Also , their was Oil on the engine again(will inspect that again in morning ).

I called the service centre guy and he agreed to pick up my bike from my place early morning tomorrow. As i do not have any other option and still wondering, how will he refuel and take my bike from HSR layout to Kasturba road... i would definitely like to have some suggestions from all you fellow Riders...!!!

Long story short, can anyone Please tell me ...After waiting for ~3 years for buying a new bike....CAN THIS GET ANY BETTER ????

Very unfortunate friend. While little seepage from the head gasket is known. But as you getting petrol smell and fuel levels dropping quickly. Certainly a leakage from fuel hose etc...

But you can trust Ravi and his team, They are the best we have heard and experienced.... Hope to see you back enjoying your ride....

Thanks Vinay.
Rohit from Kasturba road KTM came to my place early morning today along with another service engineer. Really appreciable.
one of the fuel hoze was not fitted properly just below the fuel tank. They did manage to fix it temporarily without the tools required
to open the tank. They took the bike to service centre for a proper inspection.3 of the screws holding the engine cover at bottom of bike
were also found missing.
Fortunately, the oil on the engine was just the petrol and not the engine oil so the Gasket repair work was fine.
Appreciate the prompt response from The service engineers from Kasturba road KTM.But still ..how dangerous/safe is it to ride a
375cc bike on road with petrol dripping from the engine.

@maverim, it's so sad to see so many issues pop up hardly 26 days of purchase, but glad all these were little niggles. Secondly, leave no stones unturned when it comes to the personal satisfaction of the job done at SVC. Hope the bike keeps you smiling as it did, ride safe.

Spoiled brat from France! All thanks to a dear friend of mine!

Just received this today, and boy I must say the packaging is such finely done, and next up in line is chain. Total damage 5k. But totally worth the price, I paid for the person else it would have gone upwards of 7k.

Contemplating a chain kit, but the darn thing costs 18k just chain alone. Well gotta save, and once the current sprocket is done and dusted, these sprockets should go in at least that's the plan and that time should give me leeway to save some.

Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
