Hi guys got my bike from first service the engine is smoother but gear indicator issue still their they said will replace the sensor they had taken the pic to send to ktm hope they replace it
Keep bugging them until they change it. Sometimes they need to be prodded to perform the functions.
It this true390 has a micro chip which controls the engine when the engine is overheated the chip kill the engine automatically What is the limit I have heard if you try to pull the bike above 100kmph for more than half an hour the chip shut down the engine automaticallytej
I have ridden the bike above 150kmph for more than an hour straight, with the engine heat being a constant 5-6 bars.
im still wondering how I finished my tyre at 8000 kms.
so after a ride of 60 kms to tyre shop, @backlash4u saw coolant leak from underneath. found the source of leak, but it stopped by itself. fingers crossed. will go for 3rd free service in next week.
As the Metzelers are soft compound, small things such as tyre pressure, weight of the motorcycle, riding speed and style etc makes a big difference in tyre life. For example, riding on a hot day wears a lot more rubber than riding in the winters. So nothing to worry about. It happens.
I don't think it is wise to compare Pilot streets with Metzelers as the both are completely different tyres. The former is meant for bikes up to 250-300cc bikes and the latter is used even in flagship machines.
And are you sure the coolant leak rectified by itself? Have you checked whether anything is left in the reservoir to leak? There is less chance of the leak stopping by itself.

I've done the Chennai - Bangalore run in 3.5 hrs on my duke.. Constantly maintained 130+kmph on the highways.. And throughout the run engine temperature was only half on the temp bar..

1. Start the engine; 2. Turn the trottle; 3. Disappear ;)
Hey there, Akash, itching for a Duke 390 eh! You need not worry about the coolant levels and the engine oil for the run in, as the bike is pre filled with the right amount of oil, just make sure these are at the right marks, especially the coolant. Secondly do take a look at the engine oil level just in case, but as you've said KTM SVC keep a real keen eye on the fluid characteristics of the bike before delivery.
There is nothing of particular significance with regards to normal chain or normal power, but keep in mind that different bikes have different power and the setup made for them is different but again not significantly different.
I'd suggest you take a test drive of both the 200 and 390 and go for the which makes you feel home.
I just can't help it. Have this itch to upgrade from the boring commuter level to somewhat exciting.
390 thread is more active and vigilant than the 200(NOM) so asked for the PDI part here. Going in for a D200, baby cruise missile

The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place. It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.
im still wondering how I finished my tyre at 8000 kms... anyway changed it to Michelin pilot street at Rs 5500. saved around Rs 3000. if anyone wishes to hear me, choose metz or something that's better than metz... downgrading to a lower tyre compromises ride fun on 390. believe me...
the bike simply falls into corners, which was not case before, the bike responded to my cornering commands, but this Michelin just does what it likes. hence, more and more precise throttle control is required now. on metz throttle it as you wish and metz took care, but Michelin does not.
the bike simply falling into corners - is a good thing isn't it? are you saying Michelins do it better in corner , but worse elsewhere? please explain. I ve changed over to Michelins in my last 3 bikes and never been happier.... so kinda hard to digest. Ok, I don't own /ride a D390.

nice that you said you don't ride 390, I meant 390's character. yes, its a good thing that tyre simply falls into corners, but when tyre behaves more like this in corners, rider's throttle input needs to be more careful...
in metz, that was not the case, throttle input did not matter much as tyres took care. when I tried Michelin in my pulsar 150, I was so happy and had nil complaints.

We are not comparing both tyres... Im just trying to put the point to those, who are gonna change tyre, that, its better to stick with metz or something better than metz for D 390. Regarding satisfaction, Im satisfied for the money spent on Michelin...There is a difference of Rs 3000.
Coolant leak is not there now, level is between max and min...
I'm a responsible rider. It doesn't matter what you ride, but what matters is how you ride.
Eshan-P180, This is the first time I am hearing WD40 for degreasing. Would you recommend it over kerosene or Motul Chain Clean?
WD40 is used to clean rusted surface, i prefer to use kerosene or chain cleaner liquid
Yes for rusted surfaces as well. You can use them as well but turn out to be expensive affair, as for kerosene I dont wish to go through the pain of rubbing my hands with soap for an hour, the smell gives me a headache.

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
Guys, I'll introduce myself later.
Finally, I got a fancy number today. So the agonizing wait is over. It's time to welcome 'Die Oranje Monster' home.
2 things I need help on from you guys,
Firstly, how long should I wait to change or modify the stock exhaust.
Secondly, if I go for some sort of aftermarket job, will that affect EGO sensor's behavior? Will I see check engine light on like we see them on CNG fitted card?
Thanks n cheers
Hi guys.. just got my first service done. The bike feels a lot smoother than before but there some kind of vibration noise coming from somewhere near the fuel tank at 4 to 5k rpm. Has anyone else had this issue?
Hi guys.. just got my first service done. The bike feels a lot smoother than before but there some kind of vibration noise coming from somewhere near the fuel tank at 4 to 5k rpm. Has anyone else had this issue?
It may be due to loose nuts at the front of tank. Check whether they have been tightened properly, also check the nuts holding the console.

This noise comes from the fuel cap, it's due to the vibrations from the engine below.
