Went for a short sunday ride through Kasaragod to Jalsoor (Kerala-Karnataka border) Sticky tarmac with some super twisties, i would suggest guys who havent tried this route to check it out. After this you get Sullia-Madikeri road which is another heaven and goes all the way to Mysore and Bangalore. Duke rules here. Finished 2nd service, I'm super happy with the Duke. Only negative thing is you cant relax while riding this bike. just pushes you more and more.

The only reasons i can think of are:
* Overheating
* Lack of lubrication/low engine oil
* Coolant leaking into the cylinder leading to coolant mixing up with the engine oil and then disaster: Engine seizure!!
If the point 3 happens to be the case: DEMAND A NEW ENGINE!! Coolant going inside the engine may potentially damage gears and other internal components.
If possible make a firm stand and demand a new engine from KTM right from the factory. Otherwise, if you are ok with the idea of having the existing engine with just the cylinder and piston replaced, download the service manual, replace all the gaskets, inspect the crankshaft and connecting rod, make sure all the mounting bolts are torque tightened and not by hands on screw driver nonsense. Inspect everything and ensure that all the internal components are in good shape. Replace the coolant completely, bleed out the old coolant.
I would go with the demand to replace the engine will not take a delivery otherwise!
While going through the run-in process again, ensure that you keep a sharp eye on the engine oil level and top it up when necessary.

Per Castrol research, the surface stabilization continues even upto 5000 km. The best way to break-in is city usage with varying speeds and short bursts of fast acceleration.KTM Duke 390 | RE Interceptor 650

I thought they filled in mineral oil for the run in. Can anyone confirm this or the brand/ Type used initially. I want to top up a bit and do not want to mix oil types.
The manual says 1.6L of 15w50 oil. (Page 146 of the User Manual)
The RPM2 settings on page 48 of the user manual. Download a soft copy from here and keep it on your phone always
