Is it my imagination or does riding the 390 make you a wee bit more impatient on the roads. Everyone seems to be riding / driving a little slower than usual. Maybe it's just Bangalore traffic.

That is simply just how the bike is, it doesn't want to stay fixed at a given speed, it always looks for ways to pull ahead, and if you try to maintain it at a speed, you feel really uncomfortable, and you give a wee bit more gas and that is all it takes to leap ahead.

You will get used to it eventually.

Do keep us posted on the tire front.
I went for 300v right after 1000 kms service. No regrets. During second service, I went for recommended oil i.e. 7100. Not impressed.

I think they will flash the new ECU Maps based on request and our persistence.

Issue: My bike has developed coughing issue during cold engine. it means, some issue with fuel supply. Appointment is taken with service engineer who will check with latest ECU Map for KTM 390. And left leg gaurd bolt broke when I tried to tighten it . It was not over tightened.
Is there a ECU map revision for the 390 to take care of lower rpm jitters or stalling issue or something. BEWARE. It might just tone down the 390's character. Like what happened with the 200.
Do not simply go ahead with the remap which KTM provides. It should be your choice whether or not to. Ask the engineer about the map first. Like decrease in top end or how would it affect the acceleration.

Ask him upfront what changes the new map will make to the performance figures.

Do not let him simply tell you it's gonna make the bike smoother and the next day you realize you're going smooth but not fast

For sure. That plus distances and journeys magically seem shorter than they perviously used to be.

I have done close to 600 kms on my 390, and have found some oil leaks near the engine area.
Showed it to the Service guy in Kasturba road(Khivraj Motors) this morning and he told me that it was a minor issue where the seal was not fitted properly.
Told me, it would be rectified in the first service which I am planning to give next week Monday!
Otherwise, I have enjoyed every moment I have taken it out for a ride, be it for the buying eggs/bread for the morning breakfast or Late night getaways on the E. City Flyover!

                Regards,

Sorry, have edited my post to rectify the same. Yup, I am nearing my third service and it still gives a thrill every-time I ride.

15w50 is more advisable considering the summer and the traffic conditions taken into considerations, moreover the bike runs a high compression anyways, so a bit thicker oil is always better to regulate the running temperature.

I would highly recommend 300V... 7100 is crap for 390 engine....

Hello guys. My Duke has clocked 5k and 2nd service has been done too. Ownership experience has been pretty good except some rattling sound coming from the underbelly exhaust. It only happens on cold starts. When engine is warmed up there is no rattling sound. It has been there from very beginning(~500 km) but now it is more pronounced. I had instructed SVC guys to inspect it before both of the services. After 1st service I didn't notice it but afterwards it kept on increasing. Yesterday when I got my bike back after 2nd service, I was told that the exhaust will be replaced under warranty. But I think they weren't able to identify the problem. Today I got a call from SVC to make a video of it and send it to them.
                          Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Guys, I have recently moved to Gurgaon from Bangalore. Could you help me with locating the service center location and your experiences? Is there a watch out I need to keep in mind or a mech who does good work ? This would be the Bike's 2nd service, so wanted to be extra careful...

Gurgaon has one in some very random place which i wouldn't suggest. Take your bike to Suman Bajaj in Noida and ask for Asif (mech). He is highly recommended by all the KTM SVCs in North India!

The other option is Kirti Nagar, where also they do reasonably good work.
