    * while holding the tank, at certain rpm, high frequency vibes can be felt on the knees and above. is it common.
    * twice in last 2 weeks, the bike is suddenly stopped while in motion at around speed of 30 -,40 kmph, as if someone is just cut the cutoff the ignition. strange, anyone else facing this.
    * chain slap and some high frequency sound from the front end continue.
    * once in a while, the gear lever does not sping back to normal, after pressing it.

rest all seems to be under control.
I have not faced any of the above. Except, a faint chain thud under the 'right' conditions.

About my bike, it has completed 1800 kms. Done purely within city - I use the bike as a daily commuter. I have only one complaint - 6 tyre punctures in the same time period! I am certainly not looking forward to replacing the tires with the same Metzellers. These tires seem too soft for Indian conditions.

Vibes coming at certain RPM are called as resonance vibrations. This is there in almost all the bikes I have ridden. And 390 being a big single cylinder, Vibrations are part of package. Its just matter of time you get used to it. I am coming from Hero Honda engines BTW

Regarding Bike stopping, Did it happen during the fuel is low?? Mine turns off when I hard brake using front only when fuel level is low.

Mine did not had chain slapping sound before, but after I tightened the chain it came back

      No issues with gear lever.

This is shocking - 6 punctures! do you live in an Industrial /Manufacturing area? Incase you choose to switch tyre brands - try Michelin Pilot Street radial. Rs10,000 a pair in Chennai.

I do go through a 2 kms patch where road in under contruction for laying water lines. Also, each of these punctures was caused by nails. I am not sure what to switch to - In any case, I will not deviate from the stock sizes.

Except the last point which I experienced rarely I've not faced the other niggles mentioned.
looks like many ppl are facing sticky gears, occasionally. just hoping its no big deal and will sort out with time. If i remember correctly, someone on this forum had mentioned something about some part bending in the gear box, resulting in stuck gear lever. Hope its not that.

almost everyone is having the chain slap sound which means its not really an issue but a feature.
unlucky with 6 punctures. I have not a had a single one in last 1700 kms (touch wood), especially considering the bad/no roads i have to cover everyday.
That bring me to asking, how does not fix a puncture on a tubeless Tyre? this is my first tubeless vehicle, and i have never experienced a tubeless puncture fix. Do normal road side mechanics fix them? is there is a simple fixing kit available? will try and ask google as well.

390 may demand regular torquing of the bolts and fasteners to minimize unwanted buzzings. I am coming from vibes of a big single UCE 500 but those vibes are low frequency compared to 390's super high honey bee types. shall check and tighten all the bolts this weekend.
a good point u have brought about shutting off at low fuel, which i am not sure about. If next time, it repeats, will check the fuel level.

Mine just crossed 600 kms and below are my observations vis-a-vis your points
*Frankly never paid so much attention or rather the vibes never grabbed so much of my attention but they are definitely there while idling in standstill
                *Same as above
                *This never happened with me
*Chain slap is definitely there increases in rough roads in lower speeds but tightening the chain optimally helps
*Can you explain a bit more

They use something like this - Tubeless tyre puncture repair kit for cars n bikes | eBay

Except that, these guys will ask for 100 per puncture.

I had 3m coating done on my bike. Earlier, I was under the impression that 3m is kind of film that is applied on a surface. Turns out its just some polish that is applied. Can anyone explain the benefits of this over normal polish. (The ASC guys were very vague). Thanks in advance.

I must add that it happens only when I try to downshift more than one gear at a time, say try to come from 5-2 or 5-1 or when I downshift half heartedly. In nearly 40 days of ownership and ~700kms of riding I must have faced this issue ~2-3 times. I really don't think it is due to any bending, atleast I will not worry as of now.

The process seems simple if one can identify the puncture. Will geot one of these kits, just in case.

Hope so! in my case its like when i press the gear down from neutral to 1st, sometimes it take a a second extra for the lever to spring back to normal position. This happens in any gear, mostly 1st 3.

3m had many products. one is this polish which you are referring to. another is PPF (paint protection film).

It happens to me all the time while I downshift really fast.. have to check with the service people next time.. I've covered 2500kms and I've had this problem from day 1..

Coming to punctures, I would not suggest what these road side guys do as it'll spoil the tires in the long run.. Instead of fixing the tire from outside, I'd suggest you to get it fixed on the inside because the first type of fixing it will damage the tyre after 4 to 5 punctures..

Go to a good tyre shop. They'll completely remove the tire and they will fix the tyre on the inside. There will be no marks on the outside and the tyre also will not be damaged. But this'll cost 200 to 300 bucks..

That someone who was talking about a bent gear selecting shaft was me and my problem was not sticky gear shifts, but, the gear lever never came back to its position once you downshifted or shifted to first from nuetral. I had to manually tap it from the bottom. Got my bike replaced.
