Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Fellow Bikers,
I am happy to say that now I am also a proud owner of D390; have got this orange beast last Friday. However one thing concerned me today morning where I have seen some little amount(say 4-5 drops) of coolant has been spilled out(green in color)on my petrol tank. And I see that the coolant cap is heavily tightened and not sure how and why it had happened. Anyone experience this kind of issue, please pour in your thoughts.
P.S: Since its in running in period I am maintaining the speed between 50-60 KMS within the RPM range of 6K at the max.
Cheers,
Ganesh
Happy, Safe and Sensible Ride

Looks like a case of excessive coolant quantity. When the engine is completely cold, hold the bike straight and check the coolant level in the window. It should be between min and max, preferably marginally nearer to min.
Mind you, it should be done when the coolant is completely cold as it expands with temperature.

'rpm1 warning' is actually a Gear change indicator. You can set it as per your convenience.Originally posted by kkamaleshh View PostThe rpm1 light don't come on in the sixth gear both in duke 200&390. Owned 200, now 390.
Sent from my ST18i using xBhp Connect mobile app
hence, no gear change warning in last gear

All the 390's come with fork boots fitted from the factory.Originally posted by Doga View PostBtw aren't the 390s coming with dust boots to avoid this issue? The newer lot 200s are all equipped with these, after the 200 owners reported so many incidents.
Logic would say, the 390s should also get these
@everyone, the black thick rubber like thing that is in between the top outer tube(Black) and the inner tube(Silver portion) of the fork is the boot. Why 2wheels over 4.....
Its because 'Whatever it is, it's better in the wind!'

Needed inputs on these from Duke 200/390 owners :
1) Which after market horn are you using if any ? The stock horn is just too meek . How about the Pulsar horn which has the right balance but how to create a mechanism to unmount it every time I take it to the SVC.
2) Did anyone try to cover the whole rear tire ala R15 by using the stock mudguard. If yes - how?
3) Did anyone put additiponal mounts to the Fazer windscreen in Dukes
4) Any cost-effective paddock stands available in Bangalore...

Mine does not have a fork boot. I have to get it installed soon. Any idea if they have to dissemble the fork for this? Or will removing the wheel do?
2. You can add one more stock mudguard and bolt it to the existing one.Originally posted by nelson_sanjoy View PostNeeded inputs on these from Duke 200/390 owners :

3. IMO no additional mounts are necessary. I have noticed that the Fazer Windscreen on my bike vibrates negligibly on idle and ONLY when you go through potholes. It does not flutter at high speeds.Last edited by suhasn46; 12-17-2013, 06:05 PM.Motorsports - Because in football, basketball, golf and cricket, you only need one ball! ;)

I have had my pie tooOriginally posted by SDS17 View PostCompleted my 1000 kms and got the first service done this Saturday. Experience so far :- The fuel gauge gives weird readings all the time. It goes from “all bars” to “three/four bars” within a range of 50 kms. Sometimes if bounces back with a bar of two. I guess it wants me to check out some new Bars.
. My DTE range showed from 52Kms to 0 Kms after just ~3 Kms!!!. Luckily though there was top up available near by. I learnt its just a reference than dependence
. Have unlimited safe miles
Bhp is how fast you hit a wall, Torque is how much of that wall you can take with you.
