Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Your bike must be from the first few delivered. Yes the forks would have to be disassembled to be able to install them. The cheaper alternative as mentioned by someone already would be to buy the boots, cut them nice and clean, then, wrap it around the forks and glue them back. This would save you the labour cost and also some precious time.Originally posted by suhasn46 View PostWhy 2wheels over 4.....

Yes bro it is from one of the early lots in September. I was thinking on the same lines too! A good glue to hold the cut halves back should do. Thanks!

I doubt this being a perfect fit. Since it will be cut, it will loose its integrity though you would glue them back. Just my two centsOriginally posted by suhasn46 View PostYes bro it is from one of the early lots in September. I was thinking on the same lines too! A good glue to hold the cut halves back should do. Bhp is how fast you hit a wall, Torque is how much of that wall you can take with you.

It all depends on what adhesive you use and how good you rejoin it.Originally posted by Team Torque View PostI doubt this being a perfect fit. Since it will be cut, it will loose its integrity though you would glue them back. Just my two cents
Since it is used just to cover the seals and does not have any mechanical influence or load, i dont think integrity would be major issue as long as it has been properly fitted.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

I agree. After all it is neither a load bearing part nor it is extremely critical. Bike runs fine even if it falls off and it's just preventive maintenance.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi guys..went for a trip to B'lore from Mangalore and back. Went through coorg, mysore and while comin back took the hassan sakleshpur road. As we all know riding on good roads is an absolute bliss on this bike. Touched 165km/h twice on the way back. Bangalore Hassan of 150kms can be covered in one and half hours. It just decimates 2 lane highways. Even after the wind blast i was not too tired, and the best part is the seat. I find it much more comfortable than the P220 seat. My Butt was in good condition after i reached. Always wanted to see how comfortably this bike keeps up with four wheelers and it was superb. The four wheelers cant keep up with this one.
Fuel tank is not a concern, after a thrilling ride stopping for fuel for 5 minutes is no big deal. Over all beautiful.

A couple of quick OT questions buddy.
1. Which route did you take from Mangalore to Bangalore? Charmadi or Shiradi?
2. How are the road conditions?
I'm riding soon in the same direction so your inputs would help. Thanks!Motorsports - Because in football, basketball, golf and cricket, you only need one ball! ;)

I belive that is because of Exhaust pipe's heat.Originally posted by timuseravan View PostHey guys I have observed a strange thing during my rides. I get the heat more on left side/left leg than the right. Is this the same for everyone?2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Question for the Guru's...
There has been 'n' number of discussions, still here goes. Thought of buying the engine oil before the first service after seeing the fellow brothers suffer from the lack of engine oil in SVC's (thanks to the bro's for letting us know by posting). Manual says Motul 7100 10-50 while the shop had two different versions Motul 7100 10-40 and 7100 20-50. Could not find 10-50.
What would guys you suggest as 10-50 is not available? 20-50 or 10-40? Both are fully synthetic only.
TIA

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
JFYI- The first number before the "w" stands for the minimum operation temperature. Normally where temperatures can sometimes drop to below 10 degrees and therefore they have different grades for different seasons. For example: 10w40 lubricant is more suitable at 10 degree Celsius and above temperatures. The 2nd number is more important. it stands for the viscosity of the lubricant, meaning how thick it is. Again giving you an instance: A 10w20 Engine oil is thin and runny and very smooth but engine will overheat very easily, lubricant breaks down faster losing its vital additives and your Engine will wear soon. Coming to your query, since Ktm recommends 10W50, STICK TO IT.Originally posted by peaesus View PostQuestion for the Guru's...

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Requesting anyone who is not using his hand/knuckle guard to pass it on to me for a reasonable price.
i gave my bike to a friend for a small test ride. As he is used to bullets, the duke handle does not turn as much as bulls, which caused him perception issues, and and the bike while taking a turn, slowly leaned and fell on the Right side. the knuckle guard cracked and broke. Please let me know if anyone is not using his knuckle guard, and is willing to sell it.
