And that was Rs. 12000 which could've made the entire deal (12000+4700) as expensive as the Metz.

I think you're right about the size and suitability. I haven't kept a strict eye on the comfort level, but all I can say is that comfort must have increased for sure...

But what explains the sketchy steering at high speeds? Could we attribute that too, to the different size? I guess we can.
Because, otherwise these tyres are not bad by any means.
Michelin recently launched Pilot Street in 150/60-17 size, retailing at about 6.2k.

I had fitted michelin rear at 16000km and it's covered 10000km and still going strong.
Regarding the grip it gets better after say 600 to 800 km
With no doubt michelin will give double the life compared to metzelers

This is the latest model, it is similar for the D200 as well.
And remember the rest of the items, such as rear monoshock mud flaps and radiator fan shroud were implemented in the earlier revision i.e. Sept 2014 onwards... so you only need to look at the fork protectors and handle bar grips to identify the current version.

Thanks for the reply. But i dint understand the third pic handle bar grips.I think we can check with VIN also for the model confirmation.

What I told you is the easiest way to identify the new model. The third pic is the handle bar grips, and for the new model, it should appear as shown in the pic. The new model has same grips as the RC series while the older dukes had a different pattern on the handle bar grip which were a little harder.

And yes you can check with the VIN (chassis number) also. The 10th character should be 'F' for 2015, search this forum/Google it and you will find information on complete dissection of the VIN.

Pl visit the dealer and check out and do a test ride.. and do not base your decisions solely on what we folks mumble on the internet
And if you are buying a ktm, be ready to face a few niggles here n there and must have the patience to sort them out.

The size change is only in the rear tyre, which was 150/60 earlier. So today on my bike, the rear is less wider and more taller.
Weight wise, the Michelin rear tyre was slightly heavier than Metz.
Did you try sourcing the new model from MRF, the C1's ?
I have seen a few Duke's riding on the michelin 140's and they do look more bulkier.. though i haven't ridden one shod with these, but someone once told me the handling felt 'weird' after switching from the mrf's on the d200.
I will definitely stay away from this 140 michelin, and will try and get the new mrf c1's or the 150's from michelin itself for my D200.. Though sourcing these might be a pain in some cities.

My rear Metzeler was gone at 9000 kms. Front still had some life left. But I changed both anyways.
I am not sure if there is something wrong with my riding.

i have covered 19000 Kms now and am still running on the stock front and rear tyres. The front still looks decent, while the rear can do another 2-3k. On the rear the outer surface is reached the TWI level.

In my opinion, i have not really been baying the bike. Most of the distance is done on my daily commute to office, which is 24 kms one way. The raods are GOOD, and comprise of 40% traffic and 60% relatively open roads. Morning i take 30 mins to cover 24 kms, and return journey is usually covered in about 25-28 mins.

If metzs can last 20k kms on my bike, i would not mind replacing them with metzs again. Issue is they are not easily available in Bangalore.

I'm thinking of getting this on my 390...
Has anybody tried these out? How's the grip?
Also I had near 0 luck with the revz c1. The local "authorised" MRF dealer had no clue that such a tyre existed.

Please let me know if the michelin is good.
Also, do I need to get it fit at the service centre itself or can I get it done at any good tyre shop?
                  Ride safe!

Pilot Streeets are great, like reviewed by samarth and used by many on 390 inlcuding krishnaprasad, sudeep, etc from here and got the same on my FZ. Planning to get one when MEtz run out. It's a great tyre but no match for Metz in extreme performance.

Most tyre guys manage to install without paddock, using regular jack, but safer at SVC as they got proper equipment. I remove myself and take to tyre shop and refit myself.

@s1d - almost no MRF dealers have even heard of the C1... Every single one I visited showed me the C.
I've had really tough luck finding it anywhere in Pune so far.
I'm also thinking of going for the 150/60 Michelin soon. A guy here was offering that for 5.8k.

Thanks! I was mostly concerned about the tyre guy messing up the chain setting. I've just got it adjusted, & becomes extremely frustrating if it gets even a tiny slack....
I think I'll take it to the SVC. Better safe they say :P

Sorry for the delay, got my Metz, took around 15 days but they did deliver safely from delhi. After all my b!@#$ing it was not bad. But the website gives u creeps cos they dont pick up calls at times and dont update tracker regularly. Went for a ride to blore after fixing the new tyre, it burns the pocket, but the confidence it inspires on high speed and twisty tarmac is PRICELESS..

I want to buy a KTM Duke 390 in a span of a month.
But I heard that KTM has Imported a 2017 model to India for r&d.
Should I wait for the 2017 model or get the present one

                                Starting problems Duke 390

                                Hi guys,
Since yesterday, when I started up my Duke in the morning it made some slightly more lethargic sound than normal and died down in a second. Then when I pressed the starter again, for longer than normal (even after it had picked up the revolutions that means it's started off) then it started properly.
Today, the sound was again softer but it pressed the starter longer again and it worked.
It feels very different from normal.
                                What could this be?
Does it look like something is wrong?

This is after trips in the rain over the weekend. Could that have contributed to the apparent problems?
