I will check the stator coil values and regulator output voltage this weekend before taking it to SVC.
Had been fighting this issue for 6+ months.replaced just about everything. did get it resolved eventually(like last month).I also have a low battery warning regularly even thou the battery checks out okay every time.
Poor brake feel(no initial bite whatsoever) and deceleration hiccups are still present.
The new 2015 batches are fine right? Also less throttle travel/twist for full wot?similar to another dhaval's cam mod.like a quick throttle.

Great that it got resolved (with stator coil change I guess?).

Poor brake feel with no initial bite can be with glazed pads. I faced it once. Pad had run 7k kms and got glazed, even though 20% pad materials were still left. I just got the pads replaced. Issue resolved.

Yes, newer batches should not have these issues.

Not the just the stator. through various various visits the entire electrical wirings, abs sensors etc.they have a list of components replaced in their computer.the last time my abs light was also ON plus zero. Also had just zero while moving like you before.

Same with the pads.they said there's plenty of life left and no need to replace pads. They usually clean and bleed the brake system. They even changed the master cylinder! I'm fed up fighting them.Is dot 4 fluid used for the 390 in India.I thought it was 5.1 but was rebuffed by them.Full of kaamchors at the factory and asc.

Are Deceleration pops caused by bad fuel?Should i use additives.Like the ones by servo at BP pumps.

Ok, what was the last step that resolved your issue?

DOT4/5 does not matter much in normal use. Only during heavy usage, the difference will be felt - the brake will suddenly lose pressure and the lever will sink without any braking at all. But, this happens after usage like riding downhill over a long distance or riding on the track.

I think your issue is, a slight pressure at the lever does nothing, However, more pressure does apply the brakes but the braking force that is generated is low compared to the force with which the lever is pressed. Correct? If yes, then its a glazed pad or glazed disc. Just change the pads. They cost less than 200 bucks. Even if it is not the issue, there is no harm in atleast ruling this out. As for glazed disc, check if your disc looks same as other Duke's disks. I mean the surface of the disk should not be uneven or unusual.

I use Shell always. I hear bare minimum pops when I de-accelerate in a higher gear for too long. That is normal.

I'm also going to the Service Centre on saturday to get the "speedo showing 0 intermittently" error on Saturday. I also get a low battery warning if the bike is parked for more than a few hours (though the battery is alright based on tests).

Let's see what they say. I'll get them to check the stator coil among other things.

Friends, I need some honest replies here. I am pretty interested in RC390 and since both share the same engine and this thread being the more busier and with more kms clocked on this particular single cylinder motorcycle, I have taken the liberty to post my queries here.
I live in a place where every petrol pump stocks only normal petrol and its a known fact here that most of them mixes kerosene and as such high adulterated fuel is available in most of the places( almost every place i can think of but giving it a benefit of doubt, maybe).
So the question is, can this high compression 373 cc motor survive on such poor diet? How would it affect the longevity of the engine as I am planning to keep it for at least 5 years. Your advice will be highly helpful and much appreciated as I have personally never experienced anything above a 200cc mill.

Yes, the brake fluid used on the ktm's here is definitely not 5.1 , its a DOT 3 or maybe DOT 4(can't remember exactly) and the brake fluid supplier is HP. You can see the bottle your self at the asc, it will be marked 'bajaj' and if you read the label closely you will see the actual manufacturer and grade.

And deceleration pops could be caused due to bad fuel, and additives may or may not help if its bad fuel but could help with cleaning up the fuel system and reduce deposits. Why don't you try System G or Servo's Adon P in their recommended dosage(plus a little more the first time) for a couple of tankfuls ? They are safe to use (personal experience and i know a lot of people who use it on their r15's cbr's and ktm's). Finally you can also dump in some of the fuel injector cleaners (stp, abro.. available on amazon.in) for a tankful and run the bike for around 100km continuously.

That was honest and straight. And from a KTM owner i believe.
Well, if it can't last 5 years.... well, what can I say, its disappointing. By the way, i won't be using it for daily purposes, maybe 8-10k kms in a year or so. That is less than 900 kms per month. Can it survive that?

It will survive much more than that. Search in international forums KTMs have been as good or bad as any other brand of repute. It's a machine after all, just take regular care of it and it will serve you well.

The bike should have not problems running 5years. But with such highly adulterated petrol who knows what can go wrong.

high adulterated fuel then forget 390. its chokes, one wrong tankful of very LITTLE adulterated fuel has created nuisance in my bike, i have clean my entire tank and replace my fuel filter and more over i have been using the same fuel station for my other vehicles for more than 5 yrs without any problem but still it troubled my 390. 390 cannot take high adulterated fuel, this is from my personal experience and highly recommended from the KTM service engineer. 390 even with high compression ratio can run perfectly with normal octane petrol but cannot tolerate adulterated fuel.

Update regarding speedo shows 0 issue - It is indeed the stator coil. I checked the coil myself. The coil is shorted to the ground - resistance between any one of the 3 wires from the stator coil to the GND should be infinity. However it is not. Moreover, on starting the bike, the battery does not charge.

The stator coil costs 1000 bucks. And I have decided to replace the coil myself. The more I can keep the bike away from SVC, the better it is for its health.

Bangalore guys - The nearest SVC to my place, BTM KTM does not have the stator coil in stock. Any suggestion on which SVC has the highest probability of having this part in stock?

                              REAR TIRE LOSES PRESSURE

Hey guys, my rear Metz seems to lose around 10-12psi in a week.
I fill it up to 31 and it reaches 18-20 soon.
I'd wager there's a micropuncture. Any other diagnoses?

What can I do about this? Would a regular puncture patch up at any random mechanic suffice?

Also, is it safe to ride on the highway with such a tyre?

Apart from micro puncture, check for rim bends.
