Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Since the bikes are available off the shelf (atleast here in bangalore), if the applicable date for hike is even out by a few days, you can save a few bucks.Originally posted by P3T3R View PostThis is news to me. The dealer in Goa didn't say anything. In any case even if you book today the price at the time of delivery will be applicable.

I will try to see if they have anything in stock. So far they are so far saying they have no stock. Lets see what they say when I offer to upfront.Originally posted by snapppy View PostSince the bikes are available off the shelf (atleast here in bangalore), if the applicable date for hike is even out by a few days, you can save a few bucks.

I had met the owner last week, he had offered me a test ride without pillion on the Duke and RC at the new porvorim showroom, I didn't take his number and have forgotten his name, ideally you would need to speak to him directly. According to me taking a test ride with a pillion is pointless, unless of course you scare the shit out of him!Originally posted by P3T3R View PostI will try to see if they have anything in stock. More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Need help from the fellow members, my bike stalled two times today in the evening MID stating high coolant temperature and distance between both points when bike stalled was hardly 1.5 km. This thing happened to me last week also.
Coolant level is at the recommended level. Odo is just above 5k KMS and this is the first niggle i am facing other than fuel cap vibration. What could be the possible reason for this problem.
Thanks in advance

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Finally managed to get a Test Ride of the Duke 390 at Porvorim. Found it a bit more comfortable than the RC 390. However wife says that the Duke does not suit me and I look funny on it. She's insisting on me getting the RC 390.Originally posted by stefanm View PostI had met the owner last week, he had offered me a test ride without pillion on the Duke and RC at the new porvorim showroom, I didn't take his number and have forgotten his name, ideally you would need to speak to him directly. And yea both the Test Rides were with the pillion. The guy in Margao on the RC 390 was a total moron, telling me when to change gears etc. as if I was riding a bike for the first time. The guy at Porvorim was better though he told be to back shift a couple of times. He actually meant downshift. They had just received a stock of Duke 390's 2 days ago but surprisingly none of them had the slipper clutch. The dealer was sure that they would get the bikes with the slipper clutch in the next lot and that the RC 390 would not be getting the slipper clutch. How do I verify that the bike actually has a slipper clutch when I take delivery?

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
You will come to know by pressing the clutch lever. If it feels hard it's a dry clutch and if it's buttery smooth it's a slippery clutch

Was this in heavy traffic? With summer coming overheating is possible in stop and go traffic.Originally posted by Chandan92 View PostNeed help from the fellow members, my bike stalled two times today in the evening MID stating high coolant temperature and distance between both points when bike stalled was hardly 1.5 km. No sir it happened to me in mild traffic. I had covered hardly 3 KMS and stopped at only one traffic signal when bike stalled first time. Second time bike stalled in 2 KMS again stopping at one traffic signal. Traffic was not stop and go.Originally posted by timuseravan View PostWas this in heavy traffic? Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
2015 Duke 390 has around 20 updates which are mentioned below. It should not be hard for you to identify that you have got a 2015 model with either of the below changes.Originally posted by P3T3R View PostHow do I verify that the bike actually has a slipper clutch when I take delivery?
Easiest way is look out for shocker dust protection. If the bike you have is 2015 model then its has a slipper clutch.
1) Slipper clutch
2) Change in the front fender design
3) Rear fender gets better structural material
4) Sealed indicators to avoid water seepage
5) Heating dissipation to the bottom with radiator fan assembly changed
6) Rear shock absorber with dust cover (the visible metal part inside the spring is covered with a plastic casing)
7) Rear spring gets flap protector
8) Stiffened front seat assembly to avoid touching air filter housing
9) Changes in Speedometer logic to avoid abrupt zero position on the run and accommodates new service interval of 7500 kms
10) RH switch changed to accommodate the new throttle grip angle effectively
11) Rear mud cover wider in size like on the RC
12) Chain cover height increased to prevent slapping of chain
13) Changes in belly pan mounts
14) New hand grips carried over from the RC series
15) Silencer mounting rubber damper changed to reduce vibrations
16) Spark plug gap has been decreased to 0.8 mm from 1 mm
17) Connecting rod now gets a bush at the small end for added strength
18) New sealed bearings to avoid oil leakage at the output shaft
19) New collar sprocket
20) Increase in oil seal output shaft diameter from 25 to 26 to accommodate new collar

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Got a call from the KTM representative for Karnataka & Goa regarding my complaints about the dealer. I asked him about the slipper clutch and he said that Goa is currently not getting any bikes with the slipper clutch but is I'm particular about it they can make sure I get one of the bikes with the slipper clutch. I asked him about the RC 390 and he said there are no immediate plans for the slipper clutch in the RC390. Maybe in 6-7 months time.

KTM Duke 250, RC 250 to be manufactured in India
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
I guess now whoever goes to buy should be carefully about checking the VVN number as well. Should be checking this "F" if its E then it is 2014 model, i don't think you can make out which month model it is.Originally posted by Daavy99 View Post2015 Duke 390 has around 20 updates which are mentioned below.
