The SVC head even showed the coupon, stating the need to replace the plugs. And BTW it was my second service.

would you please let me know where you got the 10W Cree LED lights from?
      - I would like to get it fitted as you have done. Please let me know who did it for you.
The lights are from "atoz motorcycle store. here is the link:
10W CREE LED Foglight, LED for Motorcycles India
You could order it and get the fitment done through any decent mechanic.
I got it installed at "art of motorcycles" workshop, which is close to dairy circle @ bangalore. They charge a bit more for making the clamp, fitment etc. They also order those lights and maintain a small inventory. I am getting a pair of the same lights installed on my C5 today.

There are many other sites who are offering LED Cannon.

I felt ebay has some good pricing (2 X 10w LED's) compared to the sites mentioned above, though I have never tried LED's from ebay.

Would using 300v instead of 7100(my current oil) in my duke 200 make the engine more smooth??

Talking of chain lubrication, I recently gave my Duke 390 to a service centre in Bangalore, to get it washed and the chain adjusted and lubricated. When I rode the bike after the service, I tested the rear brake and
realised that the rear brake was not functioning well - any amount of pressure was ineffective. I think I know why this happened.

While at the service centre, I saw how the chain was being serviced on another bike. The technician put the bike in gear after starting the engine and as the wheel rotated, he
sprayed lubricant on the chain. Obviously some lubricant got on to the rear disc brake in the process and I am sure this was the reason why the rear brake stopped functioning
properly on my bike, as the same process must have been followed. Needless to say that this process can have potentially dangerous consequences. I use both brakes and therefore
            was not impacted.

The correct procedure is to protect the rear disc brake from getting sprayed with lubricant and to do this, the lubricant needs to be sprayed carefully, while rotating the rear wheel by
HAND and using a plastic or cardboard sheet to protect the rear disc brake from getting sprayed. Excess lubricant needs to be wiped off. X-ring chains do not need to be dripping with
            lubricant!

With my experience above, I have now purchased a rear wheel paddock stand and have decided to do chain maintenance myself.

I remember seeing an owner's review on a similar experience, but cannot locate that. Anyway, after about 50 km of riding and using the rear brake hard, the problem has gone.

I have written to Bajaj regarding this and hope that they look into how bike chains are cleaned and lubricated.

as per service manager, the Rev limiter does kick at 9.5k rpm on our bikes not 10.5k.

If the character at the eighth position from right is D then it is 2013 model, if it is E then it is 2014.

You can use the info here for confirmation KTM Vin Number Identification Chart : ktm-parts.com Customer Support

The new black 390s in showroom had E so thus confirming the date of manufacture to be 2014.

                Hope this helps!

I remembered this post as I went to KTM dealer for TD....I asked him if I would get 2014 model and he said yes, so to be sure, I showed him that how I would identify 2014 model and would refuse delivery if the character is not F....because what I told him was that E represented 2013
He said that he had no idea about this but was considerate enough to show me the bill of the bike standing there with E on its chassis, which was 2014 manufactured

My bike revs till 10.5 in all gears. Does yours reach 57 kmph in first, because mine does; just before rev limiter kicks me back to ~54kmph .

                  Got my 390 today.
                  Rode 300 kms to home.
Only problem is my foot does not rest on break lever.
And there is khat sound coming in humps and potholes is it normal? ???
You have two options for the foot peg: either modify it to suite your mood (rather leg) or keep your legs off the pedal (this is what I do).
The khat sound is something that comes from the rear, probably because of chain hitting or rear mudguard holder hitting the swing-arm, not sure. But the thing is its common, but, be sure to get it checked at svc whenever you get time so as to ensure that its not something else.

ohh.. and by the way hearty congrats for the orange beast.

The issue with the duke 200 tyres is the profile. They don't have a round(o) profile like the metz. They are more like a v. This affects handling(there is a world of difference) where in you would feel like the bike just falls into a corner rather than smoothly leaning into it. The mid corner stability and feel is also much better on the metz because of the same reason. Apart from the difference in handling there is a lot of difference in grip. When it comes to wet grip, the mrf's can't even come close. When you gun the throttle at traffic light, the mrf would struggle for traction.

Overall the metz are worth every penny you spend on the. I have kept the duke 200 with mrf's and believe me when I say mrf's on 390 is a no go. They just can't handle the extra stress. The 390 is almost as good as a monster 696 when it comes to acceleration, if you go by the numbers. So, you should understand the need of a good tyre.
                    Why 2wheels over 4.....
Its because 'Whatever it is, it's better in the wind!'

Apart from what is mentioned above, I think the Revz is not rated for speeds above 150kmph. I remember reading in @MG's reviews when he tried this, the bike just wobbled scarily post 150kmph. Its a big risk to have that tyre on 390 and I feel its definitely not worth the amount you save.

okay.I have taken it to 169 on metz and the bike wobbled.fully crouched.not scarily wobbling but enough for me to back off.was coming down a smooth(no breaks) deserted flyover.could it be due to crosswinds?

[MENTION=63108]AmitRavi07[/MENTION],mine reaches 56kph(what I noticed)in first gear, 80ish in second and 106 in third before rev limiter cuts in.either its a rpm display issue since i reached 56 in first like you or its just that my bike is limited to 9.5k rpm.

I checked the max rpm on my duke today and it is indeed limited to 9500 rpm. Mine is Nov 2013 model.
Everywhere it is mentioned as 10500 rpm. I am planning to goto service center to get this sorted out.

Just checked the redline limit while riding back from office. I stand corrected, the limiter is indeed at 9,5K. Oh well, now I don't know whether I just convinced myself that it was 10.5 earlier or is it something that has been modified at the svc. Apologies for the fluke.

                              guys cant take it anymore

                              Respected Sir

Im Anupam Behera from Bhubaneswar. I own a duke 390 having Chassis No &
Engine no . Im very sorry to state the type of practices going on Rajpath KTM/ Sampark Bajaj. kindly look into the matter.

I Booked on 19th oct with 30000/-rs. i said if the cancellation charge is only 4000/-rs keep 10000/-rs why block additional 20000/-rs as i wont be getting any interest on that for next 60 days. They said its the rule and everybody have paid the same. Fine i paid the said amount. Got a call on 12 dec "sir pay the rest amount get your bike by next monday". i got my loan on 16th paid the cheque on 16th evening they said you will get it by 20th dec, my cheque bounced dont know why, neither the bank are telling anything nor the showroom staff [yet to revived my bounced cheque].On 20th dec paid with Demand Draft so no chance of error or bounce what so ever. Called Mr Asit Hota [09438447636] to ask about delivery on 27th dec, he said his grandmother passed away & he was busy with work of 10th day[ rituals]. what can i say more at this situation.i kept my calm. He said tht ill get mine by jan 1st-2nd and will conform on returning. 31dec Mr Asit Hota is not answering calls. Called up eastern sale head Mr Subrat[09007509666]. He said that old bike are no more sold to the dealer, 2014 production bike will be given and ill get mine on 14-15th of jan. so basically i paid interest to the bank for 1 month without even having the bike. Mind you the deal was for 60 days after which i should have paid the remaining amount after receiving the bike.but after i paid the full amount all the rules are thrown out. Called them on 15th jan they said delivery on 18th. called them on 18th the said there truck has broken down on Angul. Finally got the delivery on 21st jan evening.
I was told in order to get zero dep insurance i have to pay additional amount [which is 5889/-rs] than the amount given me on quotation [which was 4489/-rs]. i paid the additional amount without any fuss. Than i was surprised to see that i was charged 500-/rs extra for the mudflap on the front mudguard.i was told the i have to bear that. As the delivery was already late i didnt said much i also paid the same.Being the member of biking community in city and also different forum like xbhp. i was told that i was taken for a ride. On contacting other duke 390 owner from delhi, kolkata, hyderabad, vizag, bangalore, chennai, mumbai & few other place, i was the laughing stock who has paid 500/- rs for piece of plastic.i also came to know that its standard part that came fitted with the bike with no extra cost. Im attaching the money receipt of same [ its written as accessories & insurance, 500/- for mudflap and 1400/-rs for a total of 1900/-].

i was told that i will receive the registration paper and number after a month. After few days i got mine invoice , sales challan and insurance paper. From the very first day i have said that i dont need special no, just give me whatever no comes first.
Got my first service done on 21st feb. As i had purchased engine oil from local market for 700/- rs. on seeing this the staff of service station said in very abrupt manner that i have to purchase engine oil form them only. Which they sell for 1000/- [motul 710010W50] without any price tag on them or rather torn off. I told them as i have bought the recommended engine oil grade but wont be paying for engine oil more than 700-720/- which is sold all over india. this is the 1st service so cant say much about spare parts but by the price tag there are showing i doubt what will be my bill on paid service.
New development what i saw from last few visit to service station is owner are not allowed inside the service station. one has to sit in lobby while his bike goes through the service behind a close shutter. With all due respect we all do have tv and ac in our home but if i cant stand beside my bike and see what coming off and going in while the service is going on. ill avoid the place. I still dont get it why in odisha you have created a monopoly scenario by not opening more pro biking showroom. the only option he have is vizag or kolkata which are 400 km away from city.

on asking about the registration paper and number, i was told that nic was down so the online payment to the RTO was not made. i couldnt believe this, was the payment portal of bhubaneswar RTO was down for whole month? or why the payment couldnt me made on cheque to RTO which is just 3km from the showroom. On the same day i was than introduce to the Mr Das RTO agent [09338235607]. He assured me that i will get my registration and number within 4 days. From 26th feb im calling them both on alternative day and every day i get to hear a new excuse. 1st day i was told that registration is done and i can collect it at service station, on reaching, as usual i was told its not been done. Few days later i was told my cell no was not there so the registration was not done. After that day i was told the rto may have misplaced my cell no so that they couldnt send the registration sms. Now check this out the this is the funniest one, few days later i was told RTO may have run out of balance [cash] so the couldnt send the registration sms. Again i was told by the agent he has given the documents to showroom, i went there on 8th march and again i was asked to come on monday. Im not going to call anyone anymore. Im done with all this kiddish behavior.

Whats the point of buying a Premium ktm/ bajaj bike and not able to ride it freely. leave alone taking it out of state. one every alternate day traffic cop of city are stopping and asking for papers. i have no patience to explain them same thing over and over again. it feels like im doing something illegal riding. since i owned a pulsar for 6 yrs and trusted the name of bajaj and its service. my trust is taken for a ride.

Its a 2 days job and 41 days have past, since i got my bike.

Am i a fool or am i a joke or this is some kinda experiment to test the patience of customer? is my time of no value?there are better ways to make money than taking ride of genuine customers. By selling things at whatever price they fix. Is he doing
business or what, does his word even had any value behind it. I appreciate the attitude of the staff. i love to return all the receipt and the bike which i have rode only 1300 km so far. As i cant play hide an sick with cops anymore, neither i want the bike to be stationed in my portico and I keep on paying the interest on loan every month. they can keep the bike and take other people for ride.

As they have said that i will be getting the registration & number on 10th march which I havnt. so i have left with no option but to look for legal solution. max i will wait for 2 days after that i have to take action what ever my lawyer says and will ask your dealer to revert with full refund + compensation for mental harassment, negligence, deficiency of service.
