Yes you can do it but it may be strainous and dangerous sometimes.Originally posted by AmitRavi07 View PostYou can always ask one of your friends to hold the bike by putting the weight on the side stand. Move the wheels and lubricate the chain.. easy
Putting the entire bike's weight on the side stand while tilted is not suggested. And BTW how will you tighten your chain?

You can lubricate or clean the lower portion of chain and then move the bike to clean or lubricate other portion. Its a bit clumsy but it does the job.Originally posted by rick_7428 View Postyeah can manage that way ... But i like to do this myself !

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
SVCs are dumb. 10w40 does not degrade faster, somebody please educate this about engine oil viscosity rating. I'm seriously tired of explaining it countless times.Originally posted by jaswave125 View PostNo it will not ruin your engine, 10w40 will just degrade faster than a 10w50
Please dont miss lead your guys here, I'm from philippines and our local ktm also sell 10w-40 motul oil I dont think they are dumb enough to sell oil that will ruin your engine right?
Does he make only paddock or ABBA too?Originally posted by krish2778 View PostI know a guy who makes these and sells them for 2k or lower i think. If you are interested i can give the link to his profile. He ships it too, not sure where he is based at.
EDIT: Thanks to all who explained about the oil grade thing, I'm glad there are guys who still have the will to explain this.I am back!

The guards on NS are actually smaller than Duke's, if you can imagine thatOriginally posted by senotrius View Postsamarth 619, got 40kpl @ constant 80kph highway riding.I just got it once.during run in period.however bike was not babied.
guys, does the duke use same leg guards as the 200ns? seems to me so.
. The Duke already has a very small guard and when I checked out NS what it had was tiny.

so leg guards might not fit on the 390?unless it smaller by the outwards length aspect.
I need advice as to disc locks available in India. saw some on snapdeal.called viro;apparently from Italy.any advice on these?getting Xena is not possible till the year end.need alternatives available in India.๔ยкє ҭђгєє ภเภєҭұ เภ ๓ұ שєเภร

I myself is using xena lock, if you can't get xena right now you can get viro locks, but try to get a disc lock which has inbuilt siren.Originally posted by senotrius View Postso leg guards might not fit on the 390?unless it smaller by the outwards length aspect.

Hi,
Anyone here using D390 as his first bike?
I am all set to get D200, but deep down inside, after every two days, heart says why not push it and get a 390....that crazy acceleration of Duke 200 carried forward is what 390 is to me plus the financial aspects of course ...but then the question of it being my first bike and 390 is too powerful to handle pops up in mind...the feeling is unexplainable
Can it be used as a first bike? (my case being graduating from an activa
)

The bike is indeed a tad too powerful for daily use kind of bike, it almost tough to be relaxed on this machine.Originally posted by A[k] View PostHi,

My advice would be to test ride it from a friend of yours for say about 30-40kms, try and understand the power, take it easy and then assess about it yourself. Nothing will beat that decision.
