Got a new issue in my ride... left it with svc last weekend as the engine did not sound that right. Something to do with the bearrings it seems. When I rode back and switched off the coolant was coughed up all over the engine. Called Ravi and he mentioned it was just overflow. Saw the coolant level was at min today morning and took it to svc to top it up a little and have a good wash and check.

What joy I switch off the engine and the she coughs coolant again. Was told it was not bleeding properly. Now after fixing it I still feel the issue is there. When engine is turned off even when heat is two bars low the coolant level rises immediately. It goes back to normal when the bike is started immediately and the fan starts running. Have never noticed this before.

Anyone else with similar issue?

The bike is literally stinking with coolant which is poured ver the hot engine

I will update on the progress of this case. Thanks for all support from the forum.
Hope everything gets sorted out soon and our doubts regarding the alloy gets cleared .

Is it the tik tik sound and you hear it when the engine heats up ?

Folks I am facing one more issue. My Speedometer starts flickering every one minute or max two minutes at times both while riding and standstill and I have noticed on speedo "J6.1.7.3" is ONLY mentioned without any backlit. ODO meter works fine where as time , Average resets everytime it flickers . Should I worry about it ?

Does anybody know about new service center in Goregaon west, mumbai ? I read on facebook that KTM is going to open one but not sure if they have started.

Show me a credible source, not something posted by someone online. With due respect to the authors of those posts, one (jd666 IIRC) posts that he heard it from some Yamaha engineer. That is not a credible source according to me, well guys that is how a myth is born.

It is the catalytic converter cooling down.
Nothing to worry about. It's completelying normal on any bike.

Some say the water drop sound is because of engine oil vapours condensing from the top of the crankcase but not sure of the credibility of this statement above. A senior member could clear the air regarding the same.

This could be a small wiring glitch bro. Get it checked.

I am not worried about the ticks bro... the overflow of coolant over and over again is worrying

That is an error code flashing, let me see if I find anything in XC-1 manual.

a lot of the issues come down to poor quality control and staff training.my bike's engine replacement torture could have been avoided had the asc done a proper pdi.even my tyres were overinflated.okay, maybe Bajaj has indeed done some cost cutting;my front brake has lost its bite in 1.3k kms DukeDey any progress with yours?
quality feel wise I still think yamaha is better than KTM.fz >Duke.esp paint job.all said there is nothing made in India to beat the 390 in performance.hence owners put up with issues.
asc staff saying the rc will be launched next month in India.waiting period down to a week or none even at some showrooms for the duke now.

Definitely evident cases of bad quality control and pdi. My chain was bone try and tires were overinflated. Cost cutting is clearly visible from every end. My brakes are not different and now has zero initial bite and each time I have to apply considerable force to make the bike halt in time. The calipers are the worst part and looks like hand molded piece of metal. Gourav's brakes are even worse and he is going for a warranty claim tomorrow to replace the pads.

Yamaha is any day better than this Bajaj made KTM. They are exporting the Indian made R15 to their home market. This shows the reliability of their product.
If you worried about falling off the bike, you'd never get on.

Wiring issue. I had the same problem. Needs complete replacement of the electrical wires.

Got a JG 1.7.6 code flashing with a HID restart whenever I shifted weight while on standstill or riding (regardless of engine on or off). Bike stalled 10-12 times on the way home from office

Found the issue! looks like the negative (black wire) battery L clamp contact point had sheared off. Thankfully have my 2nd service tomorrow. Let's see if they have a replacement clamp. For now, did a jugaad and seems to be holding

----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Here's the list of things to check during second service (no problems except the 1st point during first service):

1. may be a packing issue on the left side engine cover - leaks engine oil from the screw grooves when the front chain sprocket cover is removed
2. Battery contact point sheared. Need replacement
3. Front brake light keeps activating. Need to manually move the brake lever forward to stop that
4. sounds like tappets clearances may need to be checked. Hear a similar noise when bike is idling (seems to reduce when bike's all warmed up)

So far, I've covered 6200 kms in 2 months and a week of owning the bike. No other issues mentioned in this thread faced so far.
Have had to adjust the chain about 4-5 times so far

Wishlist:
1. Get the old rear-only blowing fan. The front pushing action does not seem to do much good anyway (don't mind the heat really)
2. A bigger fuel tank
3. Higher ground clearance - Keep scraping the foot-pegs on the ghat roads. Used to leaning with the bike on my fiero F2 and shaolin..... need to get used to getting off the seat for turns now. Sigh, should have waited for the SuperMoto version!
