Sorry mate couldnot find the bills yet. I may have left it back home.

I got the stalling issue thrice... she was not breathing when I pressed clutch and slowed down for speed breakers. Took to svc and immediately identified as broken connector to positive terminal of battery. Seems like the cable is not available immediately. Would have to wait and see.

Another thing is coolant overflew thrice this week - once even when the coolant level was below minimum. Ravi and praveen are saying it is OK.

Hoping that a good steak would make my day better...

today i was in office, had jacket on as i was about to go out. suddenly i heard a whoooo whooo.... the first reflex was from my left hand going for balaclava and helmet. took around 30 seconds to strap up and start bike...
all i wanted was, just to see the source of sound. i revved it so hard for the very first time, though i had decided earlier that i would rev it up only after 2nd service.

for the first time i felt ecu cutting off, its so powerful...2nd gear, red line and a huge cut off. 3rd gear again same. all i wanted was to catch up that sound and i had to go fast.
at last i did catch up. it was a YAMAHA FZ1... damn it....first time in my life i was riding with a superbike.
the exhaust sound was so beautiful...i have no words...
my mind was already comparing things... i felt cheapo, plastic feel...lol. i felt so puny.... but from a distance my bike seemed big enough, thanks to the hand guards, and white / orange combination.

i asked about xbhp, and he was no. he said his family had 6 super bikes and they were a gang themselves and was not interested in others. i said okay. his riding wasnt good enough. shifts, braking, all were bad to me.
whatever, the way the bike leaped ahead was so lovely.
happy that my bike could catch up even after almost 1 minute gap.

This looks scary.. Not sure whether to blame the quality of make or the speed the 390 gathers quickly or the nut connecting the handle bar to the seat.

whats clear is that 390 demands caution, attention, and alertness, may be slightly more then other commuter bikes, especially on our roads which are so unpredictable. We must not consider the metzs and the abs to save us all the time.
390 is changed my riding style. it begs me to push, and i oblige, although that's not my style of riding. But the bike is such. I keep reminding myself all the time to take it easy.
Let us ride safe, for ourselves and for others!

Exactly the reason why I posted the pic. More power demends more control.
ride safe guys. Bikes are meant to be fun. Make speed secondary.

          Ride safe and have fun.

            Hi guys
Can anyone tell me about what are the issues/problems in the latest lot of 390 being sold.
            I am panning to buy 1 .
But after reading so many problems i am thinking to stick with my CBR250R.
Please do give your opinions. They would be very helpful for me.
Everything is okay for me . The heating , stiffness except the stalling issue , thats my main concern.

i dont know how many can understand this or have experienced. graduated from a 150cc mill to 400cc.

My average speed has came down by 15km/hr. I know it, a little rev is all thats needed to catch with whoever is in front except for rare occasions like, meeting a FZ1 or ducati. \

i enjoy a sedate speed on my D 390, believe it or not. responsibility feeling is so much now.

Issues currently faced by Duke 390 owners are:
                1. Bike stalling from time to time due to various reasons - broken, loose terminals have been identified to cause this apart from other reasons.
                2. Console displaying "Low Oil Pressure" - just as mentioned against the previous concern, multiple causes have resulted in this message - sorted by changing the sensor, some nozzle missing (in my case) and changing of the engine casing (in my friend's case).
                3. The alloy wheels seem to be a bit too frail and flimsy for Indian roads. The pot holes are turning out to be a force to reckon with and the Duke 390 aint faring very well.

                4. Heat - Now this is very subjective - If you ask my opinion, I had the Duke 200 and now the 390. These bikes do emit heat - from the radiator. If the rad gives out heat then it is doing its goddamn job. The 390 is a large single cylinder compared to the Pulsars and Karizmas and even the CBR. It is bound to give out more heat. People who are not used to bikes with large rads exaggerate the heat and make it an issue when it is really not.

Although I am blown away by the performance of the bike, I think Bajaj has a long way to go in terms of quality assurance. I have a feeling SOMEONE is not doing their job well. The service centers are giving random responses to customers about the cause of the issue - This I experienced today. When I asked why the oil pressure issue had come up on my bike, the mechanic who worked on the bike and the "mechanic" who handles the customers on the phone had 2 completely different reasons. This was at Kasturbha Road Service Center in Bangalore. I had left the bike there in their care for 5 days (second time - first time I had left it for 2 days) and I had put in some word through people who got this prioritized high.

My conclusion to this longish post would be that its a little too early to see how this would unfold itself in the future, near and far. Hold on to your money for now. Hopefully the latter batches will have better quality. Soon enough we also have the RC series coming out this year. If Bajaj manages to pull it off with better quality work and good pricing, this will set the faired bikes market also on fire.

Meanwhile I will pray to the gods of bikers to save our rides from long term issues and not punish us for being early adoptors.

I can see a lot of paint chip off on mine in the area where the spring comes in contact when it gets pressed.

I guess it will effect in long term in form of rusting of the spring.

Please share remedies if any, or can I go for a warranty claim?
This is a common issue in duke 200 also. Take this matter to service if you may be they will replace or paint them back. It depends upon your method of handling them. They had replaced mono shocks for duke 200 under warranty for the first batches then they start painting it. Try your luck.

I also think that waiting is a good option now.

                      Hey folks,

Had participated in the "Valley run 2014 edition" drag racing which was held in lonavla amby valley airstrip.
Placed first in the Indian open 4 stroke category with a timing of 14.149's in 400 meter race, beating the timings of all the ninja 300, Ktm duke 390 and of one Honda super 4 (inline-4 400cc ) which did 14.3x.

Even a Honda cbr400rr participated though it was not in my category. It clocked a timing of 13.911s which was 0.238s faster then my bike.

But didn't the R15 fairing at front make it almost the same ?
Did you guys remove the lens from the fairing cowl and fixed with something else ?
How does the bike behave with clip-ons ?
And apart from the Leo-Vince slip on, did you do any other mods to your bike ?

                                Thanks
