I crashed him and fell on the ground. He didn't even get a scratch. :|

There are no bruises but I hit my left knee hard on the ground. No fracture but the knee is swollen and I have difficulty in walking. Bike's engine guard is bent, clutch cover is broken and left mirror is crushed to pieces.
omg !! first of all get well soon
about the bike. now a days we are seen these engine or leg guard are getting bent from the screw which are attached to the frame. be it 200ns or duke 200/390 . this was not the same in old bajaj. few days back on 26th jan my friend crashed the duke 200 and radiator got broke from the right side and the break pedal. should we change the engine guard to better brand or use frame slider to protect both radiator and engine.

Frame sliders offer protection only when the bike skids. It won't protect the bike outright from collision or impact. Crash guards would give better protection, but they are heavy and look ugly.

Guys, does anyone know how to go about opening the tank shroud of the bike. I was searching but could not find any references.

8 black 390's delivered from KTM trivandrum already.

And good news for the future 390 buyers. The new lot of 390's have much more refined engines, somehow bajaj managed to make them smoother. The overall quality seemed better. I rode a black 390 and the difference in the refinement level was extraordinary. Mind it, I have ridden quite a few 390's before.

Looks like bajaj-ktm has been listening to the customers and they managed to make an already good product better. Proper quality check finally looks like is in place.

Hi I'm getting my bike here in Philippines this coming feb 15, And the bike that we will get is produced most probably within November-January(just a rough estimate) we are getting the white one's only, would you think it's within the same quality of those black ones?

I mean is there really that much of a difference from the old ktm's to the new ones?

This has my mind confused one part is super excited for the duke 390 but after reading this errr... I dont know if I'm getting a good quality product

                  Please share your thoughts.

I got the Apache mirrors fitted. They provide a very good field of view compared to the stock ones, while keeping the looks almost the same.

thats the 1 word i keep repeating to many when it comes to D390.. i say, you miss REFINEMENT... but alas when you say the new lot is better in that i feel sad. but we must not forget bike was cheaper too...

i was thinking about you today....from the day you complained about RVM, i observe a lot, but its okay for me, though i got to adjust from time to time... post some pics with you being in seat and cam towards mirror from eye level. so that we can know the difference, the new mirror gives in vision..

What do you mean by refinement? Smoother? Better power delivery?
                        Any improvements in gear box?

Guys, whoever tried out adding windscreens to the 390 (fazer, cbr or even MRA) how would you compare the wind protection at 120kmph+ to a faired bike like say CBR250R? Does the windscreen really help a lot in highway runs? I am asking because the D390 is one of the contenders in my upgrade list

The Fazer windshield is a popular choice, just a retro fit and it is good till 110-120kmph...beyond that it will start fluttering, if you give a proper clamps and support at the top of the windshield, then it should be able to give really good wind protection, not sure how good it will be as compared to a fully faired bike though.

BTW adarsh, do not upgrade now, RC390 spy pics have come up and the CBR250(even maybe a 300 or 500 perhaps ??) might get a facelift pretty soon

Thanks Krishna. So a proper windshield should make highway rides relaxing. And yes, I am in no hurry to upgrade, but not really inclined towards RC as it is not tourer friendly
