I thought this was my bike picture on first look. My bike suffered similar damage to front alloy. Only difference was, my head light and number plate were intact.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostSaw this on Fb.

Hope the rider is in good health. Do you know any details about how the accident happened etc? Do share with us.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Today Trivandrum KTM delivered its first Black 390 Duke, and I was there on the spot. The bike looks nice with the new sticker and paint job. According to the Service manager, all the reported issues were resolved in the new bike and is running smoother when compared to the last year's 390's. Unfortunately no test ride bikes were available. Let the pictures talk.
Here comes the sad part. The bike was delivered to a young rich spoiled brat, who went on to the busy street and immediately did a power wheelie with a pillion. The pillion almost got thrown away from the bike. Both never bothered to wear a helmet and were accompanied by a group of friends.
He was redlining the bike in every gear and the sound was audible for long. The same guy owns an RE and a Ninja 250.Last edited by junaid12345678; 01-28-2014, 09:41 PM.If you worried about falling off the bike, you'd never get on.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Just got an opportunity to ride a D390...
... W...O...W ...
That single cyl torque you get low down is just so pleasing on the dirt track... being light weight the bike is extremely flickable... the things i could do while working the CoG and rear brakes... really nimble... almost scarily nimble as to what one can do with it... yeah I did feel the windblast that howls like a banshee after 140kmph... also would be walking first thing in the morning to a KTM showroom if they had an accessory that extended tank capacity...
Bottom line... Its one of the most fun bikes I've ever ridden... the power feels much much more available throughout and you dont go through the rpms as easy as the 200... well if you do then you'd be doing more wheelies than intended..
... had a ball of time riding and had to share guys... you guys own a damn good machine...
Cheers.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
wow ! Its been sometime since I visited the 390 duke forum. didn't know so many people are facing the stalling issue. I actually came here after reading people mentioning the stalling issue in other threads(specifically the RC390 and Hero Hx250r ones). I mentioned around three weeks ago about the problem here, and till now I have faced it 4 times and I have clocked 2k Kms on the bike. The point I want to make is why do we have to go crazy about this ? I know all of us who bought the 390, we did so by paying a premium, a healthy one at that but are you really that disappointed with the bike !?
I had the duke 200 before this and I faced like 10 times the trouble with it ! literally. Chain became almost useless after 10k, Light bulbs gave up on me, the dreaded seepage problem, cold start issues, front shock seals broke and what not! but even that bike made me happy every time I rode it ! Thats why I didnt hesitate at all before getting the 390. I test rode almost every bike that deserved a consideration, CBR250r, Classic 500,RE Thindirbird and a friends Ninja but when I finally rode the 390 I knew nothing else would be as satisfying.!
My uncle owns a classic 350, and an old 63 model RE. I once asked him that how does he manage to live with those bikes even after the amount of issues they have! All he said was that he couldn't explain it to me even if he wanted and he said the question will answer itself when someday I get hooked to a ride like he is to his. And I guess I know now what He was trying to say!. My dad on the other hand says that its a pattern and this happens every time something new comes out, its a machine, it cant be perfect as almost nothing is.
I am writing this long emotional post because somewhere I feel bad every time my bike stalls, I almost skip a heartbeat, might sound crazy but thats how it is. What makes me feel even worse is so many people saying all that they are against the bike. People who ride the bike shouldn't be doing it, cause they are the ones who know how awesome the feeling is to ride it! Every time I pull the clutch engage the gear and curl my wrist It makes me come alive! apart from the four times that it has stalled :P
At the same time I am not saying we should just ignore it and live with it! Bajaj and Ktm has to sort this out ! Its our hard earned money after all! And somewhere I know it will be sorted out. But at least I dont feel cheated or anything of that sorts .
If this post doesnt make any sense then it can be just ignored cause I had to get it out of my system. And I think its best done here cause a few of you might know how I feel!
I have had a fun ride with the bike till now, no problems apart from the stalling and I will try and shift to premium fuel after the second service.I have done a 600km ride in a day on the bike and that went flawless. will be taking her to the hills in a couple of weeks . And I wish all of the bikes facing the stalling problem a healthy recovery
Adding a couple of pictures of my bike

And I almost forgot the important part :P I have a couple of queries regarding some changes I want to carry out :
1. I want to know if the pirelli sport demon is a good option for a dual purpose tyre on the 390 with all that power ?
2. How does one add foam to the seat ? By adding foam and putting a leather cover on it ?
3. Will philips extreme vision H4 perform better than the default headlamp ?
4. Do I need to worry about fuel availability if I am riding on the following route :
New delhi - Ambala - Panchkula - shimla - Narkanda and may be reckong peo and kaza. On my previous ride on the highways the bike returned a mileage of 25-26 kmpl. It was all in plains though mainly on NH2.When life gives you Yamaha, make it RD350 not R15. :D

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
I don't own a 390, but can certainly give some information on the route. I've been from Delhi to Panchukal couple of times on my Ninja 250. It gives mileage around the same as you mentioned. You will easily find petrol pumps till there, so if you happen to hit reserve, you can safely wait for the next petrol pump to come up without worrying about emptying the tank.Originally posted by Abhishek2255 View Post4. Answers to your questions:
1. I've no idea
2. You can go to any shop which stiches seat cover, they can add layers of faom in between and then stich a cover on top of that
3. It will deifnetly improve but don;t expect a miracle
4. No, there will be enough no. of petrol pump

Bravo post man .. in those two paragraphs you have summed up why we love our rides even if they have issues. In very simple word you have said what a lot of other posters on this thread were trying to .Originally posted by Abhishek2255 View Postwow !
