I plan to write to KTM about this.
Where did this happen. Why would they refuse when the oil specs are better than the 7100.

This is insane.

Hello all,

I had been to Mapro Garden this weekend with another D390 Owner. The bike was gem on the highway with a pillion, I could feel the bike at ease since we need to cross two humongous ghat sections with idiotic inclines. The bike was dead planted and mind you the climb was effortless. I dint stretch much on the speedo since I had a pillion, we were cruising around 120-130kmph wherever possible. Tank full got me 308kms, there was some fuel left (5-10kms) but since the Fuel Range Meter on the console went 0 so had pulled in for refill. Attaching some pics. Ohh and yes we did stop at Harrison Folly for some offroading... A bit of it, Yup we all were kitted up!!

@timuseravan, @The Pain : Earlier in Blore, SVCs used to provide option to customers as to what should be used 7100 or 300v. But recently for one of my friend they said the same story regarding warranty void etc etc. Then he talked to SVC manager and he told him to use 7100 for now since it was first service and use 300v later on.

Maybe KTM has started blaming 300v for engine issues, oil leak etc so the SVCs are now sticking to 7100.

@Eshan-P180 : Nice ride there.. brings back memories of my Maharashtra ride last year

The Pain, Adarsh_Bk, I explained to the SVC that 300V is the better oil and they agreed. But they had been instructed by their superiors that only recommended oils should be allowed else warranty void. This is the Pune Wakdewadi SVC.

Hello friends,

Just found this on the internet and was wondering if it is safe to change the ecu map???? Have been thinking of getting a ecu after the warranty expires.

Nope warranty is intact since I got it from the authorized SVC and there was no mention of warranty in my letter.

Theoretically it should be safe. However I am not sure if the aftermarket teams have the resources for extensive testing like KTM.
Also IMO neither of the two upgrades are worth 15K.

I m actually not in search of power but a better and sorted power delivery, right know facing with lots of engine knocking and engine stalling, is there any other option to solve it.

The power delivery is bit on the lower side at low rpms but you can practice being in the right gear. For the 390, go low.
However if it is some mechanical issue, get it sorted by the SVC.

Eshan-P180, I am curious how many litres of fuel went into the tank after you ran for 308kms? I usually refill at around 250kms, that's when low fuel level indicator comes up on highways and approx 8 litres goes in. I never tried to push further

Yeah maybe with time can get used to the gear order, but will try to source a Race Dynamics PowerTRONIC.
