Re: Shims/tappet sound - adjustment?
Make some efforts to go back some pages and look for queries.Originally posted by akshayhonda View PostCONFUSED!!! PLEASE HELP!!
I'm about to take delivery of my Duke 390 this Saturday. What is the method of running-in I should follow. Many tell me to blast the bike (but not redline it) or should I restrict myself to certain rpm (7500) until my bike clocks 1000kms??
I have quite a bit experience in riding but when it comes to my own bike im super confused with the running in procedure for Duke 390 :P
Thanks in advance for the help

Re: Shims/tappet sound - adjustment?
The clutch is too hard for some people, city riding sucks. Anybody tried hydraulic clutch mod on the D930?
I see this on YouTube, but I don't know, if that guy is selling it as a kit or not.
I am back!

Akshay - Ensure to maintain the RPM IN range of > 4500 RPM and gear changes only above this RPM. Use adequate engine braking as usual. Helps in better run-in engine. But do not exceed 7000 RPM.... Simple but this can be a little frustrating in city traffic but ensure not to LUG the bike in higher gears and never below 4500 RPM..... This done your are home with running in.

Re: Shims/tappet sound - adjustment?
Got it for Hyosung. Same one for Rs 1500ish off ebay. Works like a charm and way softer than stock clucth. Will be ordering one for 390 too .Originally posted by Cleaner View PostThe clutch is too hard for some people, city riding sucks. Anybody tried hydraulic clutch mod on the D930?

The rule of thumb is always follow what your bike is saying and always warm up the bike before you open that throttle hard. Your bike will tell you when to rev it and when not to. Warm her up for good 5mins in first start and every morning warm her up for atleast a minute or two before you roll off. Take it easy for couple of kms and then enjoy the beautiful 44 horses.Originally posted by akshayhonda View PostCONFUSED!!! PLEASE HELP!!

If you dont like, dont follow Motoman and plz dont follow the slow riding technique, you will just end up with a Lazy 390. Just follow your style of riding and let your bike adjust to your riding style and use a Lot of engine braking.
And whatever you do, DONT give test rides before clocking atleast 1000kms on the bike. Let the bike adjust with your riding style. Your bike will adjust to your style, everything from your clutch to your gearbox, to way she behaves, she will adjust accordingly.
For example, My 390 wheelies much easily (3rd gear) and has a peaky powerband whereas my Tourer friend's 390 has a softer power curve however refuses to wheelie in even 2nd gear.Last edited by riot; 08-22-2014, 02:37 AM.Street racing is for Squids trying to make up for their small equipment

Thanks for your excellent pieces of information. I was really in need of this. Could you tell me where did you get the hydraulic clutch for Hyosung? A link would be nice, if you have it. I guess the hydraulic clutch assembly of D390 would work with D200 too, do you think so?I am back!

Very good, Akshay. Pretty steep speed for new lady, take it easy. And she needs a little time, and once you're set, you're in for a treat -- orange treat to be precise.Originally posted by akshayhonda View PostWas out on my first ride with the new beast. Attached are figures from my pilot run!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
