Guys only if you people are not in a hurry I am asking you to wait.
I was supposed to go to ekm with my friends earlier this month. The plan got dropped. So I might join you 2. Let me know when you guys r going.

Riding jacket, gloves, pants etc can wait. But don't buy the bike without a helmet. At least borrow one helmet from one of your friends until we go to ekm together.

And also, Trivandrum showroom guys are not trustworthy people. So, just make sure you get the bike for the right price. I had to pay close to Rs.2000 extra. They didn't even give me the breakup. Only thing I got was an invoice where the price of the bike is mentioned as Rs.1,89k+.

You can pm me or DukeDey if you need any help.

I was on loan too. Just make sure you don't pay anything more than what the bank tells you to pay as down payment. In my case the bank (HDFC) got an on-road price of Rs.2,00,500 from there sources, proceeded with the formalities and asked me to pay Rs.40k+ as downpayment. But showroom guys told me its Rs.2,05,500 and asked me to pay Rs.5000 more. Later they made a refund of Rs.3000. So effectively I had to pay Rs.2000 extra.

[MENTION=62951]genxt[/MENTION] so the downpayment must be around 50k and not more, for me too.

Hey guys, I got my bike last Saturday. Rode it for about 100 kms only till now. Some initial impressions:

I'll skip the part which is pretty clear by now like insane acceleration, ability to get dirty, tyre grip, abs, heating issues etc.

                          1) Gear shift is clunky. You need to play around with the clutch to get that smooth shift. Slipper clutch would have helped.
                          2) When hard braking, it's difficult to bring down the gear all the way from 5th to 1st. Application of a little throttle will help.
                          3) Driving in city conditions is not that bad. Only thing is your wrist will start hurting because of the stiff clutch.
                          4) If you are not in a frantic mood, you can cruise @ 70kmph in 5th and 50kmph in 4th without straining the engine.
                          5) I love the 2nd gear. If you're above 30kmph n wring the throttle, you'll zoom past everything around u in no time. That feeling is just super exciting.
                          6) While riding in wet conditions, your back will get dirty even if you have the tyre hugger in place.
                          7) If you flick the bike at higher speeds without moving ur body, the bike will hesitate to turn resulting in an unbalanced maneuver. I meant zipping through traffic n flicking between cars from left to right n vice versa.
                          8) I had 4-5 ltr petrol in tank filled by the showroom guys itself. It was 91 octane. I had no starting issues or stalling in traffic whatsoever. The bike starts in 1-2 seconds of press.
                          9) Got a mileage of 25 km/l.
                          10) Chain slapping sound is audible when riding through potholes, riding in the wrong gear and sometimes while downshifting.
                          11) Coming from a Yamaha FZ16, the suspension didn't feel stiff at all. Ride quality is just amazing.
                          12) Overall a huge value for money. Build quality is top notch. Hand guards are not bad either.

                          A word of caution:

Those of you who are accustomed to riding bikes below 200cc, I'm telling you this. Everything in front of you will reach you in HALF the time. So you need to be DOUBLE alert!!

I can hear this prominently when the engine is warm/hot. When I ride, I can hear it clearly whenever I cross any vehicles or ride between vehicles or when I ride on a bridge where there is wall on either side. I thought that this will go away when I changed my oil in intial 300 kms. KTM service engineer also told me that there is nothing to worry. Later, I thought it will go away after my first service and KTM service engineer told me that there is nothing to worry about it. Now I’m wondering if it is caused by loose timing chain or anything related to it. Please advise if anyone else experienced the same.
Please let me know if any one else facing similar issue.....and any possible solutions....

New mudflap in the front mud guard [got it fixed during my first service] is really working well and radiator got less dirty during recent rains......

One more issue noted in past two days....[mentioned below]

I was using Shell Super Petrol until recently and during my last refill, I opted for normal petrol to see if there is any difference. Later, whenever I'm at low speed engine braking [like engine braking from 30 or 40 KMPH], I'm hearing small detonations followed by misses [I have to hear it keenly to observe it] in engine sound rythm [like the ones that you hear in racing cars when they decelerate by engine braking - but in racing cars they are louder] and this occurs occasionally once or twice during engine breaking at low speeds. I'm wondering if this behavior is due to normal petrol and is this normal? Please advise....

I would advise you to use normal petrol only, super and other special petrol have additives added to them and most of the manufacturers suggest not to use additives.. And moreover why would you want to use special petrol for a new bike, all your injector and fuel pump and lines are new.
And I don't know how correct I am but when I used to use speed petrol in my bike the cam chain tensioner use to get loose very fast and create tik tik sound.
