i picked some 'official' troubleshooting steps related docs from a recent svc visit.. here is something that might help you wrt idling problems (the numbers next to the sensors refer to the blink code i guess.. recently someone in our group had a 49 blink code, with idling issue):

edit: for some reason image file upload isnt working.. here is a link to the picture showing the idle troubleshooting steps:

I've re-sharpened the image that sid posted and hope it's clear now. The image is blurry on the top, I've stabilized it to an extent and anymore, it will blur even more. Hope it helps. You need to zoom in a little closer or bring your eye closer to the monitor like I did.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

hello everyone,

I had a doubt

I was working on replacing my camshaft and i had my bike in TDC of the compression stroke as required. By mistake after i removed my cams my TDC alignment got messed up and so I cranked the engine 2-3 times to bring it back to TDC but now I don't know if its TDC of the exhaust stroke or compression as I had removed my cams before doing so.

Is there any way to find out or it doesn't matter and I can put align the cams back at any TDC mark be it exhaust or compression?

Bring the piston to TDC mark on the flywheel, and make sure the you align the camshafts on the markings provided by them you will have to align them like this - o - and install your chain, you're good to go. The key here is to bring the flywheel marking the same as the casing marking so the piston is at TDC and rest is just aligning the camshafts and installing the timing chain.

Cheers!

The original image was blurry and he couldn't upload. So, I've personally made sure, it's sharpened a bit and then uploaded. xBhp has nothing to do with this. Plus, I did this to make sure if anyone gets this information that they require, it's there and at least readable. Hope it helps.

yes the image is a bit 'dirty' due to many people touching it (oil/grease etc). the original is readable if you zoom it. for some reason i wasn't able to upload it to xbhp (kept saying unable to upload), so i put it on another hosting site n linked it.

there was another bike in today, a D200 with idling issues, i.e. the idle used to raise up automatically to around 3000 rpm and hover there. Also had a blink code of 24, and it most likely is the stator or rr unit that might be causing this based on the code. damn these electronics .

Not about this pic, but in general the pictures gets compressed a lot after uploading them nowadays. Is there a way to upload them in higher size?

It depends on which format it is uploaded. Most of the times JPEG works perfectly fine, sometimes TIFF images do get compressed. But, if it's not uploadable, please use URL from Google Drive or other cloud devices, it works fine, for the most part.

Hello fellow 390 users.
My 23400km run 390 has started emitting smoke from the exhaust -evident after closing the throttle after revving it -the bike gave no symptoms-no overheating,no power loss,no jerkiness,no misfires,no lack of smoothness-nothing to tell something is failing-the bike still goes like a bat out of hell and i am in a quandary.
Should i continue using it till there is perceptive powerloss etc etc or it starts really belching smoke???

Is it white smoke or black smoke ?

#bpk ,it is pale blueish white smoke-and the bike needs a refill of about 100ml oil every 1000kms- will observe if the oil consumption is more now
