Well for me the bullet is best in its Standard class. The Classic looks good, but when you imagine that on Indian roads, I would tend to incline towards the Standard. Per me, The Classic would look and feel great to drive on pothole less European roads. For us Indians, we need some thing sturdy, something that looks and feel strong. Something with a "Ram-Rod" seating composure, wherein the feeling is :- Going thug thug thug thug thug... with no care of what so ever...

At least I believe in the above ...
Well ultimately it is personal choice but my 2 cents
As far as sturdiness and pothole compensation is concerned I don't see any difference , as both share the same chassis, same suspension (in fact CL500 rear suspension has 5-step adjustable preload) so I differ from you here. Also the engine is exactly same, though engine characteristic a bit different because one is carb and one is FE. Both equally heavy and strong. So I guess it is more of perception than reality. I am not into any sort of comparison but thing one is more strong and sturdy made me think this. But yes one thing I agree, any given day Seating comfort is more in Electra and Standard than Classic. That is not felt much on small city rides but once on the highway for a long ride then that is felt, so in that case any-day Standard.

And yes nothing captures the old Bullet charm more than Standard, true.

Whatever but at the end of day it is all personal choice

        Hi,
Did you ride in the city or on the highways?
I have a CL500 and I had a ride of 750 KM in a day and never find it *Very Hot* may be the issue with a particular bike.
Handle vibrates at a particular speed but not every time.
Rusting... Mine is 3 yrs old and I don't have any spot of rust (except in petrol tank).
200 to 300 KM in a day any bike can handle easily so do the RE.

        Regards

Ride was of 110 kms on highway and it was bit of cloudy with light drizzels..we were above 100 most the time..handle do vibrates on certain rpm but it vibrates with bullet power ..during the ride it for few kms my feet touched the engine and it was very hot..not that heat felt but any contact with the big engine u will endup with burnet skin same with silencer...and rusting was on bolt as it is 2 monts old only

            1. At certain RPM handle vibrates for all Bullets, then diminishes and then the whole bike vibrates at the peak end
            2. It might be particular issue. In general Bullet is very much capable of doing 600-700 kms in a day. My friend did 550 kms apparently without any break at all
            3. All metal, no fiver no plastic (apparently) so be ready for some rust but, but.. having said that little bit of care and that is taken care of. But in general it is not like the whole bike starts rusting if not taken care

Bullet can easily solve your purpose and the pleasure... ahhh.. unmatched

              Re: Enfield Bullet 500

The Bullet 500 has been started to be delivered in Pune, I have heard. The dealership tells that the first one has been rolled out already ... good news indeed.
When I inquired about myself (I was number 5 or 6 in the waiting list); was informed that it will take at least one month.
Not too sure that why RE takes such a long time to deliver their stuff...

                Re: Enfield Bullet 500

Just got the news that Dealership has only rolled out one bike at the moment and currently they are not sure how much more time it may take. Might be months at least.
I had booked at Brahma Motors in the month of May and now it is September (4 months already)
I had booked even before the motorcycle was launched, but a reply like above is not having a good picture of the dealer.
Seems that even if one has the money, he needs to have some contacts to get his prized possession (to be)

Does all have to go through this period?

Even I've booked bullet 500,waiting for a message from the dealer.. It shouldn't take long in chandigarh, because it was launched here long time back.. But still I didn't see it anywhere till now!

                      Re: Enfield Bullet 500

This is a strange fact for me too. We all know that the bike has been launched in India, in phases. But till date I have not seen any reviews about it from a user perspective. Yes, automobile organizations and magazines, have already shared their inputs, but not a single user review. Pretty strange.

Have RE not delivered yet a single model?

A mileage of 38, and that too from a 500 cc motorcycle.
This is making me more eager for the arrival of my Bullet 500.

FE of 38 is seriously out of question and the owner must have really goofed up in calculating it or taking the readings. On highway, that too for really long stretch FE of 38 can be a possibility but absolutely no way that figure would hold true in normal city rides.

Are you sure it was a 500?? FE of 38 is not a possibility in the real world. I have my 500 for over two years now and the maximum I got was around 32 kmpl after the First service. After that it has been consistently between 25 to 30 kmpl. And this too after I take very good care of my bike.

Sorry got confused!! You must have spotted a Std 500. I think with the carburetor, achieving mileage of 38 is definitely possible.
