Try sourcing the prices from few more dealers around even if they are far and just drop them accidently in front of the sales guy with whom you are communicating . Then probably the quotation may not change for any number of days.

      Re: Enfield Bullet 500

      Hello Guys,

I might finalize on this bike and might pick it up mid next year. However, reliability and rideability (on long rides) is something that owners have to mention. Can someone please throw some light on the same?

      Cheers,

      Karthik

Go for it man, this reliabilty issue is more of a hype than complete reality. The new UCE engines are very reliably and there are people around who has completed 80K+ on it. What major issues one can have friend? Small issues like brake showe change or may be sometime some loose electrical that too not necessarily are all these issues to ne worried about. People have just created hype and hoopla about REs reliabilty. No major issues or if little bit of care is taken then no issues also. Old CI bullets were indeed high maintenance bikes but if taken care nicely they also are not prone to breakdown as how many has portrayed. Go for it, Bullet is sheer pleasure and highly addictive bike, ride quality and feel is just unmatched.

I completely agree to this. Offcourse one has to take care, but it is a bullet, one should feel proud as well. After all you are going to be a part of a legacy.

I need one help from you all :-

My seller tells me that RE has not officially given the "go ahead" to sell the Bullet 500 over here in Pune. At the moment they can only display and give test rides to interested buyers. Therefore they cannot give me the official Onroad Quotation.

Can this be true? I tried to contact the Area Sales Manager for the Pune location, but unfortunately he is no more with RE.
Does any of you have any contact number of the Area Sales Manager?

Yeah man.. One year of "vanavasa" from rides, parties and trouble free city rides. I had sold my CBZ to buy this '94 bullet.

I sold the Bullet in 2007. Back then, there was less "hype" about this machine in Bangalore- You must already know that. I had serious issues with the bike, with regards to starting, electicals, valve settin etc. and I failed to get a good mechanic to work on this. As I was nearing around a year of buying it, sometimes I was pushing the bike to crank start it. I had enough of it and sold it. Also, I couldn't sustain it back then since i was a student and was surviving on pocket money. LOL.

Now I ride a Karizma and am pretty much happy with it. But, sometimes feel the need for extra power when I am touring with my wife.

                      Cheers,

Haa haa yes I got it completely. Now the CI Bullets are getting sold at prices which would make even the latest technogically loaded powerful bikes run for their money. The Bullet craze is on kind of all time high and CI being not in production anymore already got the vintage status. A Bullet mechanic near my area had 1960 model and was asking 2.6 lakhs for it

One question, why you are considering only standard 500 and not classic 500?

even i have been using a re bullet electra for a period of little over 1 year done about 9k on the odo

                              no major issues till date

but i agree build quality and fit and finish is very poor, for instance my fuel tank is loaded with scratches even a slightest touch of metal scratches it(i kept my helmet on it for a min it got scratches)
paint quality is poor ,rust is not a problem in rajasthan
electrical tend to fail ...etc etc

Well for me the bullet is best in its Standard class. The Classic looks good, but when you imagine that on Indian roads, I would tend to incline towards the Standard. Per me, The Classic would look and feel great to drive on pothole less European roads. For us Indians, we need some thing sturdy, something that looks and feel strong. Something with a "Ram-Rod" seating composure, wherein the feeling is :- Going thug thug thug thug thug... with no care of what so ever...

At least I believe in the above ...
