40kmpl...??? Were you pushing the bike or what. Just kidding bro.

How did you manage such number, even when I drive with care on my CL500, never got better than 32 kmpl.

Achieving 32 kmpl on cl500 is a commendable thing !! I simply doNt give it enough torque... I sacrifice a lot on the pickup .. Hardly rev it more than 2000 rpm.

              Hi,
I heard that this type of leg gaurd is dangerous as your leg can get trapped between the engine the gaurd. Is it true?? Any other recommendations.. ???

                Re: Enfield Bullet 500

Well I dont think theres too much safety concern because your feet is at a distance from the guard to an extent and not in the middle of the engine nd the guard.... if you are concerned the next best option would be the butterfly....

                  Re: Enfield Bullet 500

Hello Fellow Bulleteers, I recently bought my very first Royal Enfield.Clean Chrome finish and a powerful 500 cc efi engine made Classic Chrome 500 deluxe an easy choice to make. I purchased the bike from RE Company showroom in Saket, New Delhi, which I may say was a good consumer experience. The delivery was quick, 48 hours to be precise and was a contrast to stories of up to 6 months wait for Classic Chrome 500 on biker forums. I was impressed by the knowledge and commitment of RE executives at the showroom but the range of accessories and inflated prices faded the appeal of brilliantly designed premises with retro fittings and tastefully designed interior. Payment was made on Friday and on Sunday I was driving out one of my childhood dreams. It's been 15 days and I have driven my Bullet 920 kilometres, and that's 920 most thrilling kilometres of my life. It rides smoothly, it's heavy duty shockers cushion potholes like clay, it's 499 cc engine delivers torque on demand, the fat tyres grip the road and the signature thump, albeit a bit muted, still commands respect on the road. I have faced no issues except a few false neutrals and a minor oil leak after first service, which was repaired free of charge by my service centre South Delhi Motors. I think they just have produced the perfect Bullet, latest technology in perfect harmony with an age old tradition. As mentioned earlier I have been riding my Bull quite a lot since purchase and I achieved It's first 500 kms within first week. This obviously was a call for the much awaited first service, a predecessor to the opening up the speedometer to 80 kmph from the sluggy pre-first 500 kms, 50 kmph speed.Tomorrow I'm visiting the legendary Nai Kalan in Karl Bagh to accessories my bike - leg guard, fog lamps, new Roots horns and a decent leather saddle is on the menu, let's see how it goes! Mind you that this is my second attempt to accessories my Bull after the first one failed due to low quality and shoddy products delivered by Snapdeal.com, moral of the story is that try going to the local auto market instead of ending up with low quality stuff from online retailers which will only create just another return-refund cycle in your life, one you don't need when you have a Bullet to ride in your spare time!
My rating of the 2014 RE Classic Chrome 500 is ☆☆☆☆☆ for style, ☆☆☆☆☆ for Torque ☆☆☆☆☆ for Speed, ☆☆☆☆☆ for stability and handling, ☆☆☆ for Mileage (28 kmpl at the moment) and ☆☆☆ for low speed handling. I think Mileage will increase to 32 after first 2000 kms, and I'm getting accustomed to balancing the bike through dense Delhi traffic, beyond that RE has delivered me a perfect automobile, swift, agile, powerful and reliable, one can't expect more from a vehicle! A true motor engineering icon and righfully so!

                    Hi Guys!
I can title this post as Fuel Consumption Update 1.2

I filled my tank with Rs 800 worth of petrol when I had hit reserve on my bike. I turned the knob to 'Petrol ON' and was on my way. Its been 400 kilometers since the fill, and I still haven't hit reserve.

                    Calculation:
                    A) Petrol: Rs 800 = 10.93 ltrs
                    B) Kilometers since last tank fill = 404 Kms
                    Current est average = B/A
                    = 404/10.93
                    = 37 Kms/liter

P.s. Did I mention that the bike hasn't reached reserve yet?.
So the number is likely to go up !!

On August 16th, 2014 i booked the TBTS 350 marine. On Friday last I paid the whole amount by cheque and was excited for the delivery in this week until today when I took a test ride of the STD 500. Now my booking slip says Bullet 500 instead TBTS 350. The 500 will be arriving in this week itself!!!
What made you change your decision from tbts 350 to bullet 500...??

TBTS 350 sure is a fine bike. But the after market fittings support is very less. For example, if have to change the seat on the TBTS,very few choices will I have.
And as far as the engine is concerned, the 500 carb engine on the bullet is substantially powerful and not that very expensive to maintain.

The parts for bullet 500 are cheaper,
And you get a machine with a successful legacy which can be passed down from generations to generations.

P.s. the Thunderbird has become very very common.
