I checked with RE regarding my kick back and the sound. They agreed that the sound is produced from sprag clutch. They have done a through checkup and identified that my TC unit is not working properly. Got it replaced under warranty. They told me that the sprag is fine and no need to replace that. Now my beast is starting without any sound. Should I again force them to replace the sprag?

Even I got 40 KMPL before my first service was done. I think this is because during that period we will be driving within 50 KMPH. Secound thing I felt was carb setting. My initial carb settings was so lean. Due to this it was very difficult to start also. I reported this during first service and they adjusted my carb, Now I am getting nearly 33 KMPL .

I am constantly getting 31-32 kmpl. I fill petrol for 600 everytime and the meter shows 10+ litres and my bike goes 310- 325 kms . I find it very difficult to keep it under 60kmph . But its a bliss to drive in that speed.

Welcome friend.
If you don't here any sound and the ES is doing the job with ease then probably no need to get the sprag replaced.

I had guessed it that the carb is set really lean as 40KMPL from 500cc RE ...? Why not learn the carb tuning so next time you can play around yourself

Hi Guys,

I don't own this bike. But I had rented this bike while I was travelling in and around Leh in 2014 along with my wife. The power is awesome and we had trouble free riding for about 500 Kms (in 4-5 days). She always started with the first kick/electric start and even when it was really cold and snowing (yes snowing) the bike didn't flutter, nor did she lose power.

Just wanted to share this here.

Hello Guys,

Booked Bullet 500 Std Yesterday.
Late 2011 when my dad agreed to buy me a byke, he said go for bullet 350. Then I said, I don't want a bullet, I talked like I hate bullet and RE. The reason was I like to owe it instead of being gifted.
So my career now started, and saved some money for bullet. I decided to buy it. Hope Ican save enough by the time it arrives.

Dealer is Marakar Trivandrum, They agreed to deliver it before 2 months.
I was in a dilemma to choose black or forest green. My friend helped me with that, "Choose Green, Black is common. And in some angle it feels like black.". So finalized green.

Now the test ride,
Started and I felt its vibration, the rattling, i was like "WTF"
I was in that "WTF" mood till 1~1.5 km. Then started enjoying it when I started revving it and the torque started hitting. Shooted it to 80~90. That WTF turned WOW
Rode about 5~7 Kms.

Till the end of last month I was behind TB 500, then some home got in love with Std 500.

When ever I say "Going to buy a TB500" the replys will be.
1. "Old bullets are the one, The new ones are like hero honda. Buy an old one"
2. "Don't go for TB, its not a bullet, better go for classic or std"
3. "Don't got for 500, its of no use, go for 350. Its better"

When I changed my mind to STD 500.
1. "Go for Classic, its the best."
2. "Don't got for 500, its of no use, go for 350. Its better" still applies

What made me choose Std 500 is
1. Carburettor
2. Looks.
3. Hate that split seat of classic.
4. TB 500, lately I don't like its looks, and expensive.

Got a used bull 500 3 weeks ago... 1.3 Lakhs 4000 odo 1 year old.. With 3 weeks me covered 3200km hehee awesome feel... Great comfort @80kmph.. Milage 30-34 kmpl.. Above 90 vibration starts

Me too Bought a bullet 500 3weeks ago.
Done 800+ till now, thing is as its new they are asking to follow run iN, but the sweet spot at 80~90 is some thing that makes me forget the runin
Got 25kmpl when 80~120kmph
Got 35 when 45~60kmph
Done first free servicw but not happy. Better DIY.

Service is very bad...
If maintain 80kmph will surely get good milage... Above that milage drops.. From 100 kmph vibration is high at 120 the vibration is very high n my chain cover screws loosens n lost at that 120kmph vibration... I love the chennai Trivandrum single stretches.. 800km... Ni8 riding... Due to round head light the light throw is very good...

Now doing oil change filters etc by local bullet mechanic...Cbz is still good... Brought new tyres.. Planning to full DC conversion in Cbz for 55/60w bulb
